If you can find a 60 gig PS3 that would be the best because it supports not only DVD and CD but it supports the highest percentage of PS1/PS2 games followed by the 80 gig PS3 that supports almost as many of these games. The 40 gig PS3 doesn't support any of the PS2 games.

CD audio discs can be copied over to the harddrive. Can be copied as a couple different formats.
