Can you put on your own playlist while your playing a game?

just play your music on a stereo and turn down the game sounds. If it's got the option to turn down just music, then even better for you.xsynthThis. I don't know why this is such a big deal for people. Chances are, if you have a PS3... you probably have a computer or stereo that also plays music. Just do that, and you can enjoy your music in between load times and/or game changes.

There's nothing like a playa on on ps3 with a ghetto blaster on their shoulder

Maybe because some of us like to easily hear the sounds of the game AND our music? From the same source? Crazy, I know. I actually use this feature on my 360 quite frequently. It seems like another one of those no-brainer features (along with cross-game chat and voice messaging) that a console that "Only does everything" should have implemented a long time ago.
There's tons of things the PS3 is superior at, but then you come to things like this where you can't help but facepalm at Sony's ignorance.

its microsofts fault they bought the rights to it so it can only be implimented in certain ways yes i do like to listen to my music but bar racing games and some fighting games (arrgggg indestructable will drive you mad in sf4) the official soundtrack is better as it matches the play better although on may i think in a new update you can in most i think just go to xmb and music and choose playlist from there now so it doesnt matter but its awqard as said about ms buying the rights to these things thats why on psn+ i belive has the cross game chat as they have to pay license fee to someone so would not be good buisness to pay for somethink without gett ing a returnhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XrossMediaBar go down to in game xmb and read or search with ctrl +F for own music shows 2.4 update (really old update 2 years now) has compatability to do so but up to game makers as for licensing issues . still only use it for as said racing and fighting games
hers the licensing/patent it is msowned : http://www.google.com/patents?id=mx93AAAAEBAJ&dq=gamingsoundtrack
SWEET! The 3 games I was actually planning on buying before can play music! killzone 2, burnout paradise, and tekken 6. Well thats good enough for me
naw sony fails when it comes to multiprocessing, basically our ps3's are such peices of crap that when you play an audio track you cannot do anything else while the track playing. I am just amazed that I don't have to quit game in order to text message someone, ty sony for the scraps.
I'll also add to the list
It seems to have every other feature known to man, so hopefully. xDAny idea if GT5 will have this feature?

Most PSN games support in-game music and a few Bluray titles (Singstar, Sonic Unheashed, Killzone 2 multiplayer..etc..etc) - I wish I knew exactly why Sony haven't given us a universial in-game music feature yet, either that patent rumour is true or they just want the devolopers to make that decision.MushroomWigif you look bottom of page 1 you will find the link to the patent and the prof it is owned my ms
