If possible can you boot the games from the hard drive? I am asking this because I heard that BlueRay disks are easier to damage by scratches (When I lend my games to friends, they never come back the same!) If you want to go down the illegal route then yes other wise no, Â as for blu-ray being damaged by scratches that's not true.. Blu-ray has a special coating that protects the data underneath so even if the disc were to be scrtched the data is not effected TDK who make blu-ray discs have a demo on their website where they used wire wool on the surface of the disc and it still played perfectly. so dont worry about lending to friends

"They"Â have already found a way to rip PS3 games, the software is available if you know where to look.
There is also talk that once the Eur launch takes place a certain group will be coming forth with an ISO loader so you can play off the internal drive, or external drive as well.

I'm pretty sure if you jailbreak your PS3, there's already a way to play copied games from a HDD. But what I wonder about is, if you do this and play online or visit PSN will your PS3 get bricked?
