Can you charge the controller while the system is off?

Maybe he has powers like the guy from inFamous? lol but seriously...No, you can't. However, you can hook your controller up to your PC's USB port and charge it this way. The PC does have to be on though. ;)

Yep use the USB ports on a computer, too bad people in here were too busy being to sarcastic to know something so basic.

I charge it through my wii's USB ports all the time and it doesn't need to be on. Sony made a strange design choice by not letting electricity flow through the USB ports if the console is on standby.

it works. LOL It takes the same amount of time for a pc to charge it as the ps3. You can check the charge by powering up your ps3 and looking at the controller battery indicator. Remember, always fully charge batteries to prevent building a "memory". (diminished battery life)

well if you have a wii now is a chance to get something useful out of it...

plug it in to your wii

and it will charge on standby mode(yellow light);)

i have another question: Where do you go to check your HDD information like the amount of gigs you have left?
