I am talking about the soon to be released English version, not a Japanese import, and I'm wondering if I'll be able to switch the language to Japanese with subtitles, or if this information is even availiable.

I really hate dubs. The combination of annoying voice actors and unsynched lips irritates me, especially when its fine in its original format.

I thought the PS3 version only has uncompressed audio. I heard they didn't do dual audio because of all the space taken up by lip syncing.

I heard from the guy himself (Gametrailers!) that they didn't do it because they didn't want to use the Blu-ray space when the 360 didn't have it~

There is a link floating around with an Interview from one of the heads of Square-enix saying the US PS3 version will have Dual Audio, and 360 won't because they don't have Blu-ray.

After all the smooth talking from Japanese PR which pretty much neglected and tried to defend their decision not to include dual audio with English subtitles I don't believe anything until I read it from official Square Enix press or the game itself confirms it.

I'm not happy about their choice since I prefer Japanese Language with Subtitles however it won't prevent me from playing FFXIII.

I also prefer subs for everything foreign, but when it comes to Final Fantasy, I think S-E does localization right.I mean, it isn't authentic, but they've done a good job of dubbing things in the past. No random pauses, vocal tones match the actions of the character in-game and their jokes even translate well into English.

True, In my 20+ years of being exposed to Japanese culture I have heard my doze of terrible English voice acting when it comes to Gaming, Anime, TV' shows and so forth.

few companies actually do very well in English but those are rare. I'm sure FFXIII will be decent enough for me not to plug my ears into despair. ;)

The U.S. version will not have Dual Audio. SE were considering it because of Blu-Ray but decided not to because according to them it wouldn't be fair to 360 owners. You will only be able to play the game with English voices unless you import the Japanese version.

lol.

I'm not one to be a fanboy about any particular console because I can unbiasely point out the faults in each one.

That having been said: up yours, Square.

TC you got me hyped there for a second. I thought you were saying that Asia's getting an English version before the US release.

I'd also prefer English subs, the games before FFX were more fun with dialogue as text and using your imagination for voices.

I've been saying that ever since the multi-platform release was announced, and no I'm no fanboy it just sucks that they had to sacrifice even the tiniest bit of content.

This went horribly. Word to the wise: If you're going to make a claim, back it up WITH A LINK, and leave the crap fanboyish comments about multiplatform issues in System Wars.
