Hello,

I was wondering if you can play Vita games on a PS3 without a PSP Vita?

I know you can corss platform the games. I just want to play the new Hots Shots golf game but I don't really want to spend the money on a vita when I have an Android Tablet.

Thanks

Why would they make Vita games playable on the PS3 when they're trying sell the Vita? That would defeat the purpose of putting all that time, money, and resources into something that people wouldn't need.

Well, for one, there'd be a much bigger install base which might encourage developers to devote resources to Vita games, which could help sell the system. I am not saying this would work in actual reality just that there is more than one way to look at it....

Some games like Hussle Kings I believe will work on both Vita and PS3.

The reason we don't have versions working on both is because a PS Vita emulator would be hard to craft for the PS, and asking developers to make sure their games work on both architectures is a riddiculous demand. However many devs will be making their games on both Vita, and PS3. So one could argue that many Vita games, will be on PS3 too.

For instance, UMVC3, Warriors Lair, BB:CS Extend, Motorstorm RC. These are some games that are purchasable on PS Vita and PS3. As I say, since it isn't easy to put them on both, many devs will opt out of this, but others will go for it in order to appeal to a larger audience. Either by making Vita games available to PS3 owners (Motorstorm RC) or PS3 games available to Vita owners (UMVC3).

If you all you want to do is play finger swiping games, stick with your tablet. If you want a real handheld gaming device, get the Vita.
