Ok I have some questions about the ps3 and things surrounding it. So could you guys please help me out with this.

Ok first off I used to be 1 of those ignorant 360 fanboys but I've took the time to find out what the ps3 actually is and I have found that the future for the console looking very promising.

Having said that I will become a ps3 owner in a couple of weeks (BLACK FRIDAY) and I have some questions that really need to be answered if anyone could help me it would be greatly appreciated

  1. How does Linux stack up to Windows Vista
  2. How good would my connection need to be to play LAG-FREE(I have a dsl connection and it is very unreliable when I play the 360)
  3. Are there any problems with the ps3 that most people don't know about
  4. Is there any problems with Linux
  5. What is the worst thing about the ps3
  6. Does the ps3 play regular dvds
  7. Can I download ps3 games from the ps3 disc or will something like that come out in the future
  8. Can I rip music from my flash drive to the ps3 and play it when I am playing a game
  9. Is MGS4 a rent or a buy for a new comer to the series
  10. What is the best feature about the ps3 excluding games and wifi
  11. What company do u recommend for a good LAG-FREE internet connection
  12. What should I expect in the future of the ps3

Well thank you PS3 people for caring(If you reply)

Any replies would really be appreciated and thank you again peace

1. the PS3 version of Linux doesn't even come close to stacking up against Vista or any OS running on an actual PC.. 2. I have a 5mb connection and get very little lag... although if the host has a bad connection lag still occurs.. 3. not really.. the PS3 is a very reliable system 4. the only real problem is that Linux on PS3 can't access the graphics processor (or something like that) and its also kinda a hassle to install unless its the first thing you do once getting a PS3 5. probably the lack of online features... only 250 avatars to choose from, no cross-game voice chat, no unified friends list... ect.. 6. yes.. its plays them and can upscale them up to 1080p 7. you can download games off the PS store.. although most games still come on disc... if you're asking if you can rip games off the discs onto the HDD and play them without the disc.. the answer is no. 8. very few game support custom soundtrack.. but you can rip music off a CD, flash drive, portable HDD, or mem stick.. 9. Its a buy even for those new to the series.. 10. free online, Bluray player, basically a media hub... 11. IDK what companies you have where you live... just whatever you get make sure there isn't a download limit and that its not shared bandwidth 12. expect great things.. the PS3 is still relatively early in its life cycle.. hope that helps :D

I'll help u the best I can to you questions:

1. idk

2. I would recommend you using a cable connection or better. If it sucked on your 360, then u better expect the same. Also If u don't have a router, better geta  good one now.

3. In my experience I have none, don't know bout the rest.

4. idk

5. The worst thing I can come up with is that you can't customize your own advatars. Not really a big deal, but I tried answering this.

6. Never tried it, but I think it does unless I'm wrong. Its a Bluray player so you can play Bluray movies, if u have a hi-def tv and u get the PS3 and a Bluray movie, you will experience how great it is to watch a movie in HI-DEF (preferably a recent movie imo).

7.  I honestly didn't get that question. If you are tryin to say if you can rip a PS3 game, that is somethin thats not allowed in here.

8. Currently the most u can do is bringin ur music to the PS3 and  play it, but a lot of games don't support in game music like the 360.

9. MGS4 is a MUST buy if u have played the first 3. I've been with it since 1998, so the way I feel about the whole series is fat deeper compared to u with no knowlege of the series, but by all means u are welcome to join. If ur up to it, try buyin the Essentials collection to play the first 3, it should be cheap.

10. The best feature I can say about the PS3 excluding the games and wifi is that has a standard blu ray player. if u have everything from what I said in number 6, uare good to go. Also anothenice feature is the DualShock3 controller not needing any batteries like the Wii or 360 controller, just plug in the included usb cable, connect it to the PS3, and you are charging your DS3 withough thinkin of recharging batteries seperately.

11. This is a tough one, my only answer to this is that make sure you get a great connection.

12. Excpect great things in the near future, 2009 is set up to be a great year for the PS3.

Hope this helps you.
