Ok, so I have been everywhere on the net watching videos and reading posts on the fight. But the only difference I can find is that everyone is a higher level than me. I'm role level 2 on everyones roles, and almost 3 on most. I skipped ALOT of mobs because I'm impatient. So my question is that do the mobs level with me like in oblivion (game is nothing like this but same theory). I know it would be good to go back like 6 saves and figh EVERYONE, but is it possible to beat him like I am now? I know I have to go relentless when he charges and heal right before but which head do I hit to make him grunt? Any help would be appriciated, thanks

Normally it's a good idea to fight everything you can because you find more treasure and gain more experience. I don't think the mobs level up with you. But I also think it's possible to kill the boss in your current state. He's one of the tougher bosses so he requires a little bit more attention to detail than the others. Just find a strategy that works and adapt properly to the boss and if you're able to execute it, I'm sure you can kill the boss.

Thanks, that helps a bit. Good to hear I don't have to go all the way back.

Make sure you are leveling up weapons as well, and gain exp. I maxed out everybody, DO NOT SKIP BATTLES, I spent 2 hours leveling up and have over 100,00 cry points for each player, the higher your skill are the easier boss battles are .

If it's any help, my battle team was Lightning, Snow, Vanille. The Paradigm Shifts I used were Commando, Commando, Medic -- Commando, Sentinel, Medic. It was a long, but easy fight for me. It took me 20 mins but I never had to worry about my health dropping down. At this point in the game, I equip my guys with a lot of Titanium Bangles (200+ HP), and I spent most of my materials upgrading Lightning's weapon, which is at lvl 14. Snow has like 2k HP, Lightning sitting at around 1200, and Vanille with a little over 1k. I didn't have any difficulty at all. Btw, the boss looks awesome, but it was a really straight forward fight. When he charges up for that huge move, I Paradigm Shift to Commando, Sentinel, Medic. Snow just keeps "challenging" him, which is the same thing as taunt. Takes most of the damage despite the attack being mostly AOE.

How is that a spoiler? Pretty sure the old dude's name is something else, then he reveals himself as Barthandelus in that cutscene before the fight. No one knows who the hell Barthandelus is until they get to that part
