Ok so I know this has probably been done to death but I'm a gamer looking for a new handheld. I'm stuck between the two both because I have owned each at some point when they were first realeased and because there are parts of each I love.

For the DS:

- I love brain age

- Really like the idea of playing SNES classics (im a huge RPG buff) and with chrono trigger and FF VI on the way im pretty excited

- Don't love all the kiddish games

- Stylus/touch screen doesn't interes me a whole lot

For the PSP:

- love the mature element of it

- Has a nice mix of RPG, Strategy and Fighting titles to keep my interest

- Games and movies are getting really cheap as its kind of bombing

- Dont love the battery life

- Ill never use it to watch movies

- HATE those UMD discs

If anyone can give me the subtle push one way or the other id love some feedback! Thanks alot.

Both the consoles are good for RPGS and Retro games; psp has stuff like Crisis Core - Final Fantasy VII

Lots of other ff games

Metal slug , arcade classics etc

The psp also wi-fi which makes surfing the web, downloading new game content and playing online allot easier....

also, if you dont like the battery life you can buy this other battery that has more life

I dont like ds's because the games are sort of babyish and you look kinda stupid when your playin it, and it doesnt have as many features for its price difference with the psp

hope i helped :P

Your posting this on a psp forum so the answers might be a bit biaised.

But personnally id go for the psp. The stylus really isint that great as not even that many games use it. And it is a bit more of a childish console although there are some decent mature games for it.

The psp has stunning graphics, great gameplay and as you said the prices for games are dropping so you can now get great deals on really good games. The psp is also pretty RPG oriented. The battery life isint that bad but you can buy a second one cheap. And whats the problem with UMD discs? I havent had a single problem with them yet, unless you treat them really rough there shouldnt be a problem.

Sorry, but if you want to discuss different platforms then this isn't the right place, you should have taken this thread to System Wars.
