Can't get Guitar Hero 3 guitar to connect to PS3?

I plugged my wireless receiver into my PS3 and I hit the connect button on it and then turned on my wireless guitar and it won't seem to find the guitar? Anybody else have this problem? I only have two controllers linked to my PS3 right now so there is still two open spots. I was wondering if you think I got a defective one?

I was having the same problem, try pressing them simultaniously.

I have tried pressing simultaniously both the receiver and the controller and it still doesn't seem to work. The guitar's red lights will flash for a few seconds and then shut off. I'll keep trying to play with it to get it to work. Did anybody else have this problem?

Try turning the system on with the dongle already plugged in. It should be blinking. When it blinks, press the button with the playstation symbol on it and it should connect fine.
