I bought a PS3 almost as soon as it came out. Partly for the normal games, but also partly for the PS3 store, home and all the other online functions. I spent about 3 months just playing normally, but then I decided I wanted it online. I tried to set it up myself wirelessly (BT Home Hub), but it couldn't find the IP Adress. It annoyed me, cuz I had no problem setting up the Wii to it. Does anybody have any idea why, my PS3 cant find the wireless IP adress?

Maybe your signal just isn't strong enough if you said it happened with your wii aswell. The signal isn't strong enough in my house I have to run an earthnet cable to my router if I want to do anything on-line with my ps3.

Did you set the ip address on automatic or are you trying to assign it a manual one? You can try that, or try moving your router a little bit in the direction of the ps3.

The thing is, the home-hub is Downstairs, and the PS3 upstairs with no spare TV's. The reason I tried Wireless is that the ethernet cable supplied in the box was the wrong size for my plug, and we don't seem to have a standard router. Thanks for trying anyway.

Please give us some info on your PC thats hooked up to the hub.

Do you have WEP wireless security setup on the PS3?

Have you tried to just go to "Test Connection" screen? PS3 usually will automatically configure the connection.

You can get bigger ethernet cables from your local electronic store. The standard 1 was way to small so I upgraded to a10m cable which is way to big.

But yea, it sounds like your ps3 is to far away from the signal man
