Don't plug in the settings manually. Use the quick setup to set up a LAN connection. That worked for me.

use the online tutorial i had to use it cuz when i went to the network settings i couldnt even fit my whole WEP in there. so i had to use the tutorial to make the connection XD. try that. or see if your wifi switch is on... which it probably is. scan to see if your psp will even read your router... maybe yoru router is just not compatible with your psp... there is usually lots of reasons why an electronic does not work... that is after you have turned it on XD.

Delete the LAN profile that you are trying to fix and start from scratch. Then using the Quick Setup again.

If that doesn't work either.. then

Go to the router and turnoff the WEP. Yeah, your wireless will be vunerable so physically disconnect or shutdown your other computers and laptop leaving only 1 PC to configure the router. Then using the Quick Setup again and try to connect to your wireless. It should work.

If this is a new PSP, maybe it isa good time to use the store warranty.

Updating the firmware on the PSP is not really a solution. People have been able to connect to the internet for a long time so I doubt it is the PSP firmware. But it is worth a shot. But firmware upgrade is more risky compare to what i suggest above. Turn off the WEP security for awhile and try to connect to it. As for the timed out, it think you mean, your wireless is trying to connect but could not establish a connection so it timed out. By the way, is the wireless switch ON on the left side of the PSP?

ok what u have to do is reboot ur psp. to do that go on to the main menue on the psp. then go on the setting bit and go down to system settings. then click on that and scroll down to restore defult settings. do that and the psp will reboot. then put ur things in e.g time, nick ect... after that put in all ur wi fi settings and it should work. hope that works.
