Cant use a debit/cjeck card on PSN??

I want to get Warhawk, figure I can get it on PNS for $39.99 rather than $59.99 at the store (if I REALLY feel the need for a BT headset, I can get one later).

Anyway, I tried to use my debit/check card in the manage wallet area and it keeps telling me my thing is invalid and to check my entries. I have done it five times and found no errors. So is it just that you cant use a debit card on there?? Hope there is some other way to get funds on my wallet, dont HAVE a credit card and dont want one. Also no one around here sells PSN Cards.

I've used a virtual mastercard from www.wirecard.com for my UK account. You can try with a little amount of money.(But I'm not responsible if it doesn't work.)

And maybe you can find PSN Cards at www.play-asia.combut I don't know if they work other than Japanese accounts.

try calling sony and ask them to change it for you and let them know what it is telling you when you try to do it yourself

Yep I did that also. I have bought stuff online before. Some sites are VERY picky. I dont know what the issue is, I may just have to buy the full game.Zoomer30

alot of the times it is not the site but your bank that does this

i used to have a problem when i used BofA i would always have to call the bank and let them know that i was buying something online, got tired of that ish and dumped their ass for a better place

I tried it everyway this afternoon and it just messed around and did not do anything and charged me a buck for my efforts. Those $1 things better be gone soon. And to add insult to injury my card is STILL not on my account. Looks like they need to take a can of Raid to this bugtastic system they got.

Well all those little $1 charges did drop off (had TEN of them on there......I wonder how Sony was able to validate my card when it could not validate my card)

Its either "something was entered wrong" or "cant do it now try again later" I think its a TRUR miracle if anyone can actually buy stuff off of PSN, I have my doubts a normal CC would work any better, really starting to get ticked.

I evenwent to the local gas station that was supposed tohave Green Dot cards...donthave them anymore...went to Wal-Mart....Dont have them anymore. Just LOVE it how the world plots against me at every turn.

You need to enter your name and address EXACTLY as they show up on the bill you receive from your credit card company MINUS a middle initial if you have one on your statement. Example:

If your bill comes like this:

BOB P ANDERSON

1111 MAIN STREET S APT 5

ANYWHERE, CA 90201

You need to enter your name as BOB ANDERSON (all caps) and in the address portion (for address 1 or whatever it is) enter it like this:

1111 MAIN STREET S APT 5

Do it in all caps and do NOT use the address 2 or 3 lines, do it all on the first address line. I had this same issue and that worked for me.

Also, if you lock yourself out 5 times you'll need a Sony webmaster to unlock your account for you. That's why you get that "try back in a few minutes" message. When this happens it could take more than a day to reset (I had to call the service line).

God it takes less grief to lauch ICBMs. I have entered it every wich way but loose and dont get it. Also, my ZIP CODE on my bank account is #####-#### but when your enter the ZIP on the PS3 it does not give and option to add the - and the other numbers. With how messed up this thing is I really dont wanna waste tries in getting it on there.

I would just go and get a Green Dot card but as my insane luck would have it, ALL the places that sold them in town dont sell them any more.

It has a VISA symbol on it. If you had this card and a VISA Gold Card from WellFargo next to each other you could not tell the differende other than that the Check Card says GOLD CHECK CARD.

I think the long and the short of it is if you dont have a normal credit card, dont waste time on PSN. It wont work. I have my address 100% the same as it is in my bank account. I have EVERYTHING the same. And good luck trying to find a phone number to call to get help, they must know how much their system bites, no phone = no complaints.

Oh and I just LOVE TO DEATH how the thing tells me my info is wrong.....but it can still do the test charge for $1.......priceless.....This system has re-written the rules. Something can be WRONG and RIGHT....CORECT and INCORRECT. ALL AT THE SAME TIME!!! BIRLLIANT!

The point is some people have no issue at all with the debit option while others have notthing but greif. The thing I would like to know is this: How can it do the test charge IF THE INFO IS WRONG!??! I mean something cant be correct and incorrect at the same time. These people are re-writing the laws of the universe, they are MAD with POWER!!!Must be a new way to bolster Sonys bottom line, $1 at a time.

I know at somepoint I WILL want to buy something off of PSN (at this rate will be after my double lobotomy), would be nice to know what works.

Does anyone know if GD cards work at there?? Course you have to somehow get money on the card and if you try that enter Debit card = SOL again.

i received mine in august
what if ... sony wrote the PSN software and asked the "mastercard" (or visa or amex) to give them the actual access to validate the cards with the list that was done at that exact time

meaning ... maybe in november, sony got "easyer" access verify faster the card info for the cards out at that exact time in november ... but for newer cards, the updates to PSN wasn't done yet ... could it be possible ?

w/e ... i contacted sony telling them i want to buy stuff and i'm ready to give them my money but i can't
they just tell me to verify the information or contact the credit card company .... but it's obviously not the credit card company because they never received any information from sony looking into my account
