They did a great job reviving Street Fighter and the fighting genre in general...

MK has been a dead franchise since MK3 because it's popularity and selling points were soley based on pixelated blood and the fictional gore controversy in the early 90's.

I agree, Capcom make brilliant fighting games and are very experienced in this field. They would do a great job reviving Mortal Kombat and making it a much better game.

Street Fighter doesn't have any gore and yet it is very sucesesful. MK doesn't need to have the gore, so long as the game is playable and fun it will succeed like Street Fighter succeeds.
