Casino Royale region-less?

I've got an NA PS3 and I've registered with an UK account. Yesterday I've received Casino Royale Blu-ray (UK) from Sony, I had no hope for playing it on my PS3 but I gave it a try. It worked!!! I couldn't believe my eyes and wonder if Casino Royale is region-free or my PS3 plays all regions of Blu-ray, anyone know something about this?

Depends do they base your region for Casino Royale on your address or on your ps3's serial number. I would think it would be from the serial number, since they would ship a set batch of serials to a certain region.

So if You purcahsed a NA PS3 your serial number would tie you to NA and the blu ray disc that sony sent you would be a NA Blu Ray disc.

UK is written on the case but I've checked the case of the film again,  it says "all regions". I didn't see it before...

Just like the PS3 Games (which are also on blu-ray) Blu-Ray disks are region free. Ive got Madden NFL 07 NTSC version working on my New Zealand (PAL) PS3, with no hassles at all.PG8472_basic

The games are not the movies dum dum.

But it seems they made casino royal region free for easy transportation to the new ps3 owners.
