Hello, i'm back to gaming (last time I played games where about 6 months ago , because of the school and stuff like that ) And mine favourite series are : Final Fantasy , and Metal Gear Solid.I've already played all of the MGS's, and I want to play a new FF game , but I don't have enough time and money for two of those (CC:FFVII , FFXII).And I wanted to ask you guys which one should I get?I'm thinking of buying Crisis core , beause i looooooove sensitive , dramatic stories (My favourites where FFVII and FFX).What do you think?I really want story driven game , and I want a good one :)

Thanks for your time.

Without a worldmap you find yourself endlessly backtracking through past levels/zones
The way they placed objectives was imagining the zones are a horizontal line: 6 4 2 1 3 5 7
So after you are finished in #4 you have to backtrack through zones 2,1 and 3 to reach the next objective.

The combat system uses a "gambit" system wich just translates to seting
#if "health below 50%" use "cure"
now this may sound cool but it removes ALOT of character interaction during combat.
The game effectively plays itself, this means you can brainlessly farm zones with zero combat interaction from the player simply by running back and forth while the characters play themselves, never losing running out of mana or health forcing back the players interaction.
This flaw eventually becomes gamebreaking as you unlock the "lure" command that forces all the oponents to attack a single character, hand the remaining 2 chars ranged weapons and you are basicly invincible sans boss fights.

Now that leaves us with the story:
Rather than focussing on character development the game chooses to bring up a confusing heap of political wargames. you better have a notebook and pencil at hand if you decide to play through this. This is not one of those "good" stories where you are stuck on the edge of your seat while waiting for the next development either.
- To make matters worse, the main character you control has NOTHING to do with the development of the story, he gets lured in as a war victim and just tags along with the rest of the party.

# So masochistic level placements
# Brain numbing combat devoid of user interaction
# Story unlike to the FF series

Crisis core may be shallow in the combat department (still better than FFXII)
It atleast has the stronger story with actual character development and a satisfying ending.

I'd rather get FFXII.

FFVII CC's gameplay is very, very shallow. Sure it tells a story but compared to FFXII as a RPG, it pales in comparison. The gameplay, content, and hours of play you get in FFXII is amazing. FFVIICC's gameplay however, is very linear and claustrophobic. It's basically "press one button" the game. Seriously. It's that shallow. You go from one point to the other, press one button the whole time to kill a bunch of bad guys, watch a cinema scene, repeat. That's for the whole game. In FFXII, you have unlimited options. Plus the game is cheaper.

But it may be different for you. Some didn't like FFXII but I loved it. And I don't like FFVII CC too much because it really isn't a RPG.

So here's the bottom line:

  • If you like FFVII and want just the story, FFVII CC will do just that.
  • But if you want the ultimate RPG and Final Fantasy experience, FFXII will satisfy.

WEll I haven't played Crisis Core yet, but I knwo it's a great game. I personally loved FFXII. It was my favorite in the series. The only thing they could have improved was the story, but it wasn't horrible. I can't wait for XIII, Versus, and Agito!

among these i would go for FFXII, its HUGE and fun. CC: FFVII was fun too, its real time battle ( action rpg ) but i think in comparison i enjoyed FFXII more.

as for battle in FFXII, you can either set your character automatically responsive or manually controlled... instead of waiting to press X without even looking at screen now it cane be done automatically but if you like to control everything you can turn it off and play it as you like. also another genius in battle is you can make it faster or slower; faster for automated combat ( which makes it like real time ) and slower for manual combat ( which makes it like old turn-based ( ATB ) ).

also, since FFX there is no world map but at last in FFXII they did it right ( they tried but failed in X ). now all maps ( except sky city burjeva and another island ) are connected and you can start your adventrue by foot... you can ofcourse teleportamong places you already visited like previous games.walking in beautifully designed maps and seeing those amazing sceneries were great fun in FFXII.

I didn't like FFXII because of the revamped combat system. CC: FFVII was fun, but short.
