Actually most computers have power going to the USB ports even when they are sleeping. I know mine does.

The plastic controller holds illuminate red when charging and green when fully charged. It also has 2 other USB ports on it.

Your PS3 has to be on in order for you to charge it. If you are not playing your PS3 you can use your PC or any other device that is on that has usb ports.justified615

IF you hate the cables it is fair enough i suppose, though i love the fact that i can charge it and play at the same time. The dock means putting it up and not playing so it loses for me.jusmurph
