ebay baby.

I got a cheap one, no frills brand 8gb, and it works just as good as the originals.

Only thing different is that loading PSOne games/ PSP game saves takes an extra 2-3 seconds.

AND, I've tested it out on fatty and slim. Works on both.

Circuit City is selling the SanDisk 4gb Pro Duo (Gaming) for $20. It doesn't show up online, you have to go into the store. This has been verified by many members over at cheapassgamer.com : Here is the link (you may have to sign up to view the thread).

This deal has been posted at other sites like slickdeals.com as well. Looks like a deal that is actually cheaper than black friday :)

watch out buying on ebay, many sellers have COUNTERFEIT cards.

to see if you have a counterfeit, insert the card in your PSP and hit triangle (when viewing the free space on the card in the PSP explorer). if it says MagicGate: Supported you have a genuine card. if it says "unknown" or "not supported" you have a counterfeit.

counterfeit cards are 1gb or 2gb cards that are hacked to appear to be 4gb (but will not actually store 4gb)

Thats not totally true. I purchased a "counterfeit card" off of ebay, and it utilizes the entire memory card, which I have filled more than half. I've never heard of anything like this, all I've heard is that the counterfeits run a tad bit slower when loadinig games, which isn't more than a 2-3 second delay. I highly reccomend saving yourself some cash and purchasing an 8gb off of ebay if you plan on downloading a ton of PSone games from the playstation store. They work

I take back my previous post. I just did some expirimenting, and my card craps out somewhere with 3000 - 3500 mb to spare. I bought mine off ebay about a month ago and I just opened a dispute. I told the seller to send me another fake card to compensate for the missing 4gb, or give me a complete refund. The bright side is, I only spent 56$, and it does have more than 4GB of reliable data.

DO NOT buy from ebay...you don't even save money in most cases. Get a genuine 4gb from Circuit City for $20. I bought 4gb from ebay for $35, and it only held 1gb of data before the data became courrupted. I did some research after I got my money back, and read that 98% of memory sticks sold on ebay are fake. This means that you are almost guaranteed to have a memory stick that has no warrenty, won't work, or appears to work fine and then breaks a year later. Spend a little extra cash and get a memory stick such as Sandisk (5 year warrenty) or Lexar (Lifetime warrenty). Shoot, even buy a Sony card first and don't save any money at all, because chances are you'll be ripped off or have to do some extra work to get your money back if you buy a memory stick on ebay ;) And this comes from someone who loves and uses ebay everyday for many things...just never on memory sticks again.

They aretoo good to be true. But SO far the stick has been reliable. Unless I am forced to return it, I will continue to use it until I get an official Sony 8GB memory stick. I need the extra capacity due to the amount of PSone games I download.

Its a shame people can be that dishonest. I would shoot them behind Bennigans if I had the chance....

the seller of the fake card i purchased from ebay was nice. he refunded my $$$ via PayPal when I sent the card back (after i threatened to turn him in to ebay and the authorities). Then, about a week later I got a package from him and it contained a 8gb REAL card. so, i got a FREE 8gb card from a ebay fake card seller :)
