I stopped playing Motorstorm because I couldn't understand how I was getting my doors blown off so badly. Ripping along and guys are practically lapping me then I find out there is some way to cheat at boosting that was it for me. I just finished Superhuman on Resistance and the other night one of the guys from our forum tells me lots of people have the outfit because the copied a game file.
What is the point? These people just suck the life out of what should be an open and fair competition. I feel bad for them if they really believe that this is an achievement.
yeah cheaters should die, and die again, and again...well u know....
but seriously..how do they do that...i mean...the guy hidin inside a wall...cmon lol:P classic :P
in winning eleven there are a lot of cheaters too....all of the sudden the game stops....and when the players start moving again..the ball is on your net...:S
how do they do that:S??
The only game I have so far is Resistance and luckily I havent noticed any cheating yet...I could see it now though, Nathan Hales running on air, and through walls like people did on Halo 2. I want to try Motorstorm but after reading these posts I'm getting discouraged already...

JUST THE OTHER NIGHT I WAS PLAYIN NBA 2K AND I WAS WINNING WITH 1 MIN TO GO AND WHEN I WAZ SHOOTING A FREE THROW THE OTHER PLAYER STARTS PRESSING PAUSE OVER & OVER .......I WAZ LIKE DAMN DIS GUY IS A SOUR LOSER....
I agree that the devs should patch Motorstorm to fix the boost glitching, but beyond that I've seen no rampant cheating on PSN.ColoradoKindBud
theres a glitch on Motorstorm online lol I didnt know that can anyone tell me how to do it?
Well if people really go that far just to win "points" in a video game, you'd have to consider how much of a pathetic loser he really is. I mean sure, any one of us can do glitches too, but how many of us are going to attempt it? And what's the point? It doesn't give you any kind of "edge", nor do you actually win anything if you have the most points. Why can't people just play to have fun? I prefer not to know about glitches, cause there would be no point. I've been shown glitches in some games before, and the ones I've seen, you have to do a lot of a certain thing just to go inside a wall? Why waste the effort anyways? And yes, it does ruin the game. They may think they're all "cool" but they don't face the reality that they must really "fail in life" (as you guys say) and nobody likes them. I think cheaters should be snuffed out. But also there's somewhat of a thin line though, cause some game servers aren't built well, and these servers have LAG, serious LAG. Some of these people aren't even glitching at all, but it would seem that way on your screen cause of LAG (it's happend to me before on Socom 3, accused of glitching but on my end I wasn't)
I think it's up to the dev to create some kind of protocol, a program that runs in the background or something. Since everything runs in lines of code pretty much, why not make a sniffer program that automaticly seeks anybody that goes beyond the regular code? Like anybody inside the map has a code (eg: 000EAD) but the code outside the map, beyond the map limit walls is (eg: 0ZZZZZ) and that code changes on the person when the player crosses that wall on purpose and stays there for a certain amount of time and killing people. Then the server get's that PS3's (or whatever system you're on) Mac Address, bans it from the game, sends the info to PSN where it will also be banned and you cannot use anything online in your PS3 anymore. Which means you're screwed unless you buy another PS3, and have a zero tolerance plan. This would make a lot of these people think twice before they become a parasite to everybody else.
I dunno, just an idea though. That way, you would know if it was glitching or just a bad case of LAG.
not a bad idea except the fact we are on free servers and from the sounds of it that might take a little bit more than the cost of free... Excellent idea though... except banning for life, maybe for like 24 hours or so but not for life...The_Dark_Jester
If only I knew how to write programs, I'd sell that idea to game devs. Ok maybe not life, maybe life after so many offences, but I'd say maybe 5 days min, cause you've got to be hard and crack down on these people so that they won't be doing it.
i like to cheat. i think its funny hearing someone get mad over a gameslayer423
Here here, old chap!

And to hear someone getting mad over a game you need to cheat? Lol nice one loser.
[QUOTE="Erandel"]I'm suprised this sort of thing hasn't been stopped, especially since you have to pay for PS3 online services.
Isn't there anything like Punkbuster running in the background of games?

Online for ps3 is free kid...
You would think this was common knowledge on a Playstation board... Then again, what else is new
