Hi,

When I first started gaming I had a PS2 and almost every game there was health cheats, weapon cheats, nitro cheats etc......

I now have a PS3. How come there isnt cheats anymore? for instance games like spiderman etc I thought there would be loads of cheats but obviously there isnt. I just wondered why?

Spider-man on PS2 didn't have all that many cheats either. Now a series known for its cheats like GTA...if that doesn't have it then I'll agree that things have changed.

Even Godfather on PS3 (which is similar gameplay to past GTAs) has cheats.

Probably to stop people from cheating online. Not to mention games like Ninja Gaiden allow people to upload their stats, which would be impossible to compete with if someone threw on God Mode and loaded up on Karma.

Cheats are fun for about 10 minutes, then you put the game down and never touch it again.. well thats just me. A game with no challenge isnt much of a game IMO. PS- GTA had fun cheats, thats about the only game I could play with cheats.

only really good cheats are skin/character swaps which are too few. the only games that have great cheats are GoldenEye on the 64 and all the GTAs

I think it's a good thing if in fact games have fewer cheat codes in them. When the Game Genie first came out way back when, Nintendo tried to sue Galoob, saying they were lessening the long-term value of their games, and I think they were right. Take a challenging game that make take you weeks to beat, but throw on a cheat code and you can beat it easily in a few hours. How much incentive do you really have to play it again? I think the devs oughta not include any, and intentionally put in code so that when people use those game shark or code-breaker or whatever discs that are out for any major game it will cause a crash. If the game is too hard, play on 'easy,' and if it is still too hard, go play Hello Kitty Island Adventure instead. Unless you need to use cheats for that one too.

i was only joking. :P but then again, some people use cheats, and some people dont. just never bring it online, because it kills the games for more than a thousand people every day

Because cheating ruins all the fun. If the game's too easy, then it's no fun to play.

Sounds to me like you have become a lazy and poor (skill wise) gamer over over by playing with cheats.

Cheats just ruin the game and make it no fun at all. Whats the point w/o having a sence of achievement?

I use to use cheats in games but after beating "Challenge of the Gods" and "Ninja Gaiden Sigma", I found out that I'm a skilled gamer and don't need cheats

It took me 15 hours to beat Challenge of the Gods

How does it lessen the replay value, i like to play a game through without cheats, then play it again with the cheats on. I would think that, that would make the replay value higher...
