It doesn't have to be Chessmaster itself but is there at least ONE chess game - even simple, I don't mind. I've been looking for a while but no luck so far...

Chess on home is in the Mall, second level, right in front of the Big Screen. I for one would like to see a chess game for the PS3, not just the Home one. Something with funky animations, or diffrent types of peices.

I think it would be wonderful to have board game package that you can play over online.

Kind of like Yahoo games.

I'd like Go, Monopoly, Chess, Checkers, etc.

Yeah, Go is the one game that I want most, but chess would be nice too. I know these are popular and readily available on the PC, but I just love my PS3 and my big HD TV!

playing chess in home is ok but not ideal as headset dosnt work there . i allso like poker but but get very suspect cards seems unrelistic. anyway theres few chess games center part of home outside

I found this thread after looking for a PS3 Chess game. However during my search I have discovered http://www.chess.com/ which is absolutely fantastic! Come hunt me out if you fancy a game Tommyas! Same goes for you Symphonycometh! I'm ready and waiting! I hasten to add that it's free with full functionality (although there are paid subscriptions available) and it works online via the browser, on Android phones, and iPhones. Therefore I'm sure you could play in the browser on the PS3 if you were so inclinded. ;)

umm.. no, i don't recall seeing a chess videogame.. best advice i can give is just go to your local dollar general and stroll down the childrens toy section, u can get a chess board and pieces for under 2 bucks, and u don't even need a game controler to play!

There's a PS3 Mini called Cohort Chess. It's okay.

For a great free PC chess game is NagaSkaki. If you're feeling creative, you can make your own chess board designs.

Because it's not yet available in the US PSN store. I've played a couple of novice games so far to get a feel for the controls, camera views etc. It supports 3D TV's an dthe detail on the pieces and boards are great. I'm not sure how well it plays on difficult.

Haha, the reason why nobody mentioned Pure Chess is because I made this thread in 2009. By some miracle it has been revived. And yeah, Pure Chess is decent. Thanks for the tip.

Doesn't the PSN have a chess game. It is not too late for a PS3 Chessmaster game to appear. But I am surprised if there is not even a chess game on the PSN by now.
