The Chimera

Homeworld: Earth

Chimera are nearly insane with a lust to assimilate all of humanity into the fold. They fight with an unmatched tenacity and when angels stir em up enough can be thrown into a metabolic frenzy. That in turn, can pump godlike amounts of adrenaline into them. The end result is a Chimeran swarm that fights on unreal levels, throwing themselves at foes by the legion until the enemy is defeated. They also have some very advanced technology and are the masters of ground, air, and underground warfare. The biggest trump card they play however would be the spires. For those who don't know what they are...imagine an attack that could turn an entire city comatose in 5 minutes...

The Locust Horde

Homeworld: Planet Sera

The Locust Hordes are powerful and unrelenting in their campaign to see humanities fall. They are the picture defintion of power through fear and wage their war with an almost religious fervor. Though little is known about there society what is known is that they fight and kill humans to great effect. They wage this war with drones, boomers, corpsers, and brumaks. Leading this carnival of pain is General RAAM and a Queen....they're ultimate weapon would most likely be the kryll who control the night skies. Overall the Locust employ more of an organic feel of war than technological kind like the Chimera.

well considering how fast you can be killed by even a single Locust if you stray from cover, I'd definately give them the edge, although i have not played Resistance, from the videos i have seen the player is often running around with many of them nearby, its more run and gun, the player in REsistance can handle alot more enemies than a player on Gears can.

When i run&gun in Resistance I die VERY quickly, haha. i usually stay back fo rthe most part and pick people off one by one from afar. If more than 1-2 Chimera can see me at a time, i'm so done for. However, if those guys with augers pop out, cover is of no use whatsoever (see the paragraph below). Anywho, i'd choose the Chimera. They have so many versions of the Chimera, from the crawlers, to those dog looking ones, to the giant mofo's who shoot rockets, to the armored ones with Augers (the auger shoots an energy ball that goes THROUGH cover, gaining power as it goes through anything solid)....i mean, damn, they'd own anybody.

word up...and considering they can drop those bugs (i forgot the name) and tey just go in ur mouth and start to chnange you..basically ther ranks will always be replenished... Chimera wins

No dude I don't mean this in a mean spirited way. I'm just wondering who people think would win...honestly who do you think would win? Personally, I think the Kryll would almost completly negate a Chimeran advance like the one that occured on earth...mainly cuz night time would belong to the Locust...but during the day light....I'd go with the Chimera....basically it should be made into a game cuz I said so...

You guys can't forget about the spires. If the locust win a battle the chimera can just drop a spire down and clear out the locusts, therefore replenishing their army and overall, winning the battle. With enough spires launched, its a one sided war. Oh, and don't forget about those angels.

I say Locust. You have to use so much ammo to take them down. Plus they are experts with weapons (especially the freakin X bow). They are a threat afar and up close. Most of the Chimera are pushovers from mid to long distance.

hmmmmm...interesting points. Though I wouln't go so far as to say they are pushovers...Chimeran hybrids will kill you in about 3 seconds if you just stand in the open during a firefight.

Chimaera work with a sort of Borg assimilation agenda. They would easily outmatch the Locust.

Yea.. whats that thing that cant see and cant hear but can smell you from Gears? That thing alone is scarier than all the Chimera added together. Its like your just walking along then you hear it breathing... the headset on co op quickly goes quiet and you cant help but not move.

Chainsaws weren't in wide use back in the 40s, thats why...

The locust did take over the entire planet... but the humans more or less nuked the surface and took settlment in a platue area.  Did the chimera even reach the US?

Very true. The Chimera took the surface by force though...unlike the Locust who took it by suprise. They waged a land war one on one versus the humans and pretty much dominated every battle until the stalemate in England...which kinda ended when they burrowed the river Thames into the primary British base. I wouldn't judge based on how far the Chimera reached cuz it was insane how rapidly they dominated. However, it is also folly to say The Locust were defeated without being specific....they were defeated in the sense humans threw some sand in their eyes...not in the sense they lost the war.

After reading this i realized how closely both games tie to WW2, obviously Resistance is straight forward... they spread rapidly, destroyed everything, blitzed the world. But the locust tie in closely to the pacific theatre, struck by surprise, crippled the US for a period of time (our navy was hurt very badly)... and then, as we all know we dropped the atomic bomb, the war continued for a bit, and then we dropped the second which lead to the immediate surrender. Sounds a lot like the story in gears... but we cant say the Japanese were not an extremely tough opponent (if your american) even though we "won" in the same manner the humans in gears did.

Chimera. They have some vicious teeth.
