COD 4 Gets 10/10...

Sorry if this is old news, but I just bought the Official PS mag here in Australia, and they reviewed COD4, and it got 10/10 (surprise surprise). They didn't say anything about it being too short??

COD4 is shaping up really nicely. Not surprise it got 10/10. :P

Because its a PS mag,,, hopefully will be good, i only trust the Gamespot reviews (i know most of you hate them) but i actually tend to agree with all they say =]

Not too surprising...... I havent bought the mag in a while, but back when I used to, they gave 10s out like free samples at a supermarket...Tyrant-666

They still give it a high rating so you empty your wallet on the ps3 title. They dont review games as harshly as gamespot...they gave ratchet 95/100 while gamespot gave it 75/100

They'll go one further than that and not even acknowledge that it is available for PS3.

even if they are, they cant be anywhere near as biased as gamesopt.

I don't think COD4 will have any framerate issues specific to PS3 or anything. Even gamespot said they saw all of the versions running and couldn't really spot any differences. I'm REALLY looking forward to COD4. I rented COD3 a short while ago, while it has some problems, it really sold me on the idea that FPS's on consoles can have great control. I liked turning the crosshair off, and shooting from the hip at close quarters and use the 'sticky aim' for accuracy. It works so well in COD that I thought the control in Rainbow 6 vegas wasn't as good, even though it is a much better game than COD3. Between this and Haze in November, that's a tough one - but I'll get them both eventually.

A person at Game Crazy, the hollywood video game store, said that they went to the company's version of E3. He mentioned some of the games, such as assassins creed, that he tried out. Me, being the curious gamer, asked if he played COD4. and he said YES! haha, but getting to my point, I asked if there was a difference for fps and smoothness of gameplay like rumors have stated, and he said nope, he said that the textures actually looked better for the PS3.

Now, mind you, this is coming from a person I do not know, and I am not 100% positive I should trust his vision, but if one person said so, then there is a possibility that I will think the same, good news for me! :)

As harshly as Gamespot? Why because they were the ONLY major reviewer to give R&C anything lower than a 9? That just sounds like a poor review to me.

As far as the COD4 being 5-6 hours thing. That was on n4g so I immediately pass it off as rumor like everything I read on n4g. Especially when everyone else who's reviewed it so far has said 10 hours. And on a screenshot I noticed there was an option for "Arcade Mode". Not sure what that's about but it's sure to add some replay value to it.
