COD 4 Trouble

I'm having trouble with online playing all of a sudden and someone told me to delete the "Game Data Utility" and i was wondering if i do so will that effect my online rankings and my in game progress?

I don't think so as long as you still have your Save Data file, but you'll probably lose the extra multiplayer maps if you have them.
