i'll be blunt and very subjective: i didn't like either game. if you have cod4 skip WaW, cod4 has better online. R2, great in all respects except the primary component: gameplay (inaccurate and unbalanced weapons and excessive health bars to be specific). But i think R2 will give you more bang for you buck. with me not liking it aside, you could love it, and if you were to miss one of these games, missing R2 would be a bigger dissapointment than CodWaW imho. just wait till the fans of these games respond for a better picture, but i stress that you MUST play these games (rent or something) until you buy them; at least do that.
what are you talking about. cod waw is better then cod4., and it's also better then r2. both single players kind of suck, these 2 games are all about the online tho,, r2 60/60 great, NOT ranked tho WTF why not... cod waw, just like cod4, a little different things going on, also all set in ww2.
I like Resistance 2 more, I played WaW and I loved it too. But I like Resistance 2 more. It carries a storyline with a lot of big monsters and intense battles =D WaW can't do that since it's a real WW2. Don't get me wrong there both good games.

Picked up R2 today and so far its the best online game I've played on PS3, I'm loving it. WaW is really more of the same, R2 actually improved over the first quite a lot. WaW isn't bad but R2 just seems more fresh. Plus 60 player online, in depth co-op, and a great campaign thats longer than WaW's R2 is an easy choice.
I bought R2 CE and I regret it .. the camaign it short and so easy [ played it on hard which is called dificult+_+] the online is nothing new but 60 -___- which is a chaos EVEN with squads. . Id say go for CoD WaW
