i just got cod4 and was blown away by the single player and still playin through it. but when i tried online it took a reeeaaally long time to find other players and i just went back cuz it was takin too long. it just kept saying searching for other players or whatever. i know theres nothing wrong with my ps3 and nothing wrong with my cod4 so can someone tell me why it takes so long? is the server down or something? thanks.
it did that way back when i first got it so not sure what is wrong with yours go to test your connection and see what NAT you are if 3 you need to open ports or DMZ your router your looking for 2 if you have a router
i had this EXACT sam problem like 3 days ago. i sorted it out today(im so happy!), by changing the channel of my router. it was interfering with other peoples wireless signals in my area. go in your routers admin program and change your channel. i had no need to open any more ports, since they are already open. the signals only need to stop interfering with each other. since i did this, no lost connections or slowdown whatsoever.
Granted I play mine on Xbox, but I get matches instantly. I was under the impression it was similar with most players on the PS3, I would suggest testing your internet connection as well.
