Honestly the cod4 multiplayer really kicks ass but the long waiting for games, the crappy lobby, and some times REALLY ANNOYING GLTICHES LIKE RANK RESETTING, and the occasional host leaves the game ends the entire game even after you waited 10 minutes to join pisses people off. I woudl recommend you get COD4 if they fixed those things but I think you should wait and see what happnes with ut3 before you consider buy one over the other.
-its not crappy, its just like R6v's lobby but better casue there is TON of people playing
3. glitches?
-the rank resetting has been fixed and they even did a double exp weekend to make it up

If you go to infinity forums you will see a thread with a lot of posts of with lots of people complaining about the wait, and the lobby. The glitches are sometimes a guy knifes you from five feet away and other things like that. THe double exp some people can;'t even play because they get the download settings and it just stays there. Trust me man even though your is bug and lag free the majority of the owners are getting it. You just happen to be lucky, and if you don't believe me go visit the infinity forums thats why they are making the patch to fix all of this...
im not a big fan of either but i'd say unreal simply because, even though i don't find the game much fun, epic is good at online muliplayer. UT3 got a really good lobby system great servers and glitch free and fair and balanced unlike cod4. ut3 hasn't changed much at all its still the same game but the same could be said of cod4 both games are just a graphical improvement over their predecessors. however UT3 has the better online the games are balanced they are just much much better at online then IW.
also more variety online keyboard and mouse support. also i think a bulk of the ps3 online community is gonna migrate to UT3 and the cod online will be the new r6v. im really not a big fan of either but i would say UT3 offers a more balanced enjoyable online experience and frankly much more content then cod4. thats just my opinion. i've only played the ut3 demo and i have cod4.
