COD4 "Unable to connect to activision matchmaking"

I am able to sign in online but when i try to get in on COD4 the message Unable to connect to activision matchmaking pops up. what the hell do i need to do

i couldnt get in at all and neither could 6 or 7 of the peeps on my friends list, i think something was up with it last night
