I dont like fps myself, but did get cod4 because of its hype... im actually enjoying it, but more for the online game, which I been playing more then the campaign itself.... the average gamer should still find enjoyment in it

What people are saying is true, believe me.

The storytelling in the singleplayer is second to none and is really engrosing for an FPS.

The multiplayer s just excellent, with 12 (i think) match types theres always something different and it works very well.

I'm not a huge fps fan. I love games like metal gear solid and final fantasy. But I have to say cod4's multiplayer is one of the most addicting multiplayer experiences ever. It is a beatiful looking game and the challenges and leveling make it really worth playing over and over again. I really recommend it to any ps3 owner that wants to try something different. Burnout I think would get kinda boring after a while. But I think that is just my opinion.

Its overated, the campaign does not last long and the multiplayer gets repetitive

I rented it, and let me say, those 3 days were some of the most non-stop gaming days of my life, 1 because it was only rented, and 2 because it was just fantastic. I beat it on normal, then hard, then veteran, then went on online and got to lvl 44.

I personally hated First Person Shooters before I played Call of Duty 4. But now I play it every day, and love it. Trust me, even if you don't normally like FPS, Call of Duty 4 is for you.

Oh, I'm not much of a PC gamer, I was, untill I stopped wanting to spend money to keep up, and just buy a console everytime a new one comes (which is much longer than when a new game pushing the limits comes)

It's pretty much the exact same, I don't know the differences between the versions, except that the PS3 lags on Ground War.

You are going to get a lot of answers on this one. Here is my 2 cents. The single player is great, but way tooooooo short. Might be the shortest single player game I have personally ever played. As for multiplayer it is good at 1st, but then becomes a whippin. What I mean by that is this. I got the game the very 1st day it came out. Played the heck out of it an ranked up some, but was no longer able to play the game for a while. But then got back on line, and started realizing that everyone was "God Like" compared to me. They had leveled up, and I went from 1 - 2 place to bottom of the pile until I ranked up. I told this to a fried of mind, and he argued with me saying when you level up you are not at that much of and advantage. 2 days later he informed me that he hard started a new profile, and that he owes me an appoligy. He said that even though he is almost always at the top when he created the new profile he now was at the bottom.

All this to say, if you buy the game you wont regret it, it is very good. But you will need to be patient, as the more seasoned players will be ranked up, and you will be there fodder until you rank up.

Good luck and get the game.

Agreed, you are mostly at a disadvantage unless you know exactly how to use the create a class after level 5 I think. I chose MP5 and steady aim, juggernaut and so on.

I've been playing it alot... but its started to get boring... keep in mind I get bored of games easily, and Ive been playing this game for 2 months.

I hate the fact that it doesn' have a cover system. Waiting for Rainbow Six Vegas 2, then COD4 gets sold.

I for some reason didn't like the fact that it zoomed out to 3rd person because you simply always got an advantage, I still wait for the day a FPS has a great realistic cover system (Killzone 2 might work)

true... it was a little fake. Brothers in Arms looks like it has a nice cover system b/c the guy is trying to look around the corner when up against the wall.

CoD 4 is overrated. Simple as that.
People are going to lynch me for saying it,
but, I mean, SP wise, it's short, and the story is as cliche as they come....

It's not revolutionary. The online is better on Warhawk.

have owned the game for almost 4 weeks.....and have spent no more than about 30 mins playing the campaign mode. I've been 99% online and f'ing loving it! It's just a great game. You've got alot of things to accomplish (ranking up, challenges, unlocking new weapons, etc) plus when you get polished with the assault rifles (M16, Carbine, AK47, etc) you can spend some time working on your "sniper skills"...which adds a whole new type of fun to the game. The only frustrating things about the game for me....is no matter how high I rank up...I still get owned in alot of games and I think the game favors "assault rifles" rather than "snipers". I can get some good kills w/sniper...but it's difficult to remain hidden, as people find you..then KILL YOU. Not saying you should be able to camp out and get 20 kills and no deaths...but I'd like to be able to run off a streak of 7 or so. Anyway...I'm having a ball with the game. Loads of fun.

Well it would be smart to move after a few quick kills, because if kill cam is on then they will obviously find you, but other people can still find you.

if there isnt a kill cam its a lil bit harder to find u but u are still being able to be found.... people already know the best sniping spot so its just that bit easyer for the other person to find u..
