COD4 vs. WARHAWK vs. UT3 (POLL)

Warhawk is inferior to COD4. Have both and COD4 is WAY better. UT3 i havent played so i cant really say. But from others comments, UT3 sounds like an excellent game.

Right now id say COD4. Dont know about ut3

Honestly , the reviewers just don't know what they whant for them self any more and when good game fall's from the sky like a 1 tone rock they give 7.5 for that show :P

As for UT III ,it was, is and will be one of the best fast paced FPS games.

i would definately say UT3. the unreal team has been dominating for almost 10 years, they know what they are doing. UT3 is going to be really big, so you can expect a lot of players online. also, the team has announced (but i dont know if they are still doing this but we can hope) that the online multiplayer willl be cross platform between the ps3 and the pc. the graphics are absolutely amazing, and while they dont directly effect gameplay, it is always nice to be having eyegasms. and reviews have said that it still has one of if not the best control scheme for fps. and finally, keyboard/mouse compatible. to sum up

unrealteam that has unreal experience

cross platform mutliplayer = lots of people to play with

eyegasms

unreal controls

keyboard/mouse compatible if your preference

get UT3

I think it's a little early to compare CoD4 and Warhawk to UT3 right now since UT3 hasn't been released on the PS3...

With that said...I own both CoD4 and Warhawk. Both are excellent games with fantastic online experiences. I personally like Warhawk more than CoD4 because it feels more balanced and more epic to me. I'm all about the 32 player battles where all hell is breaking loose all around you. Evenly matched teams allow for very tense and exciting games. I love it.

The one thing about CoD4 online that I find to be a double edged sword is the experience system. Veterans of the series and more experienced online players have access to far more powerful weapons than beginners. I think those players' experience advantage is enough of a handicap. It really sucks being a beginner and getting slaughtered by veterans who are armed with far more powerful, silenced weapons while you're trying to figure things out. The levelling up feature is an excellent incentive for players to play more though...It's a good and bad thing.

For me it's just a personal preference.

I'm going to wait out on UT3 because I have CoD 4 to play as my FPS of choice for a while.

I think it would be best to compare UT3 to CoD4 in a couple of weeks. Warhawk is a different animal because it's a 3rd person shooter whereas the others are 1st person shooters.

hmm lostsoul - link to the crossplatform. I don't think this is correct - you can create charachters etc on the PC and transfer it to the PS3, but don't think they said you will be able to play across platforms. If you got a link that would be great since I may very well be wrong...svenskamerikan

Yeah..that was a rumor before, and I haven't heard any news saying yeay or nay to it... but I doubt it will happen.

Which is the best? Is a silly question as most here seem to answer Unreal III without playing it so its a biased view really.

I've only played the demo on PC and it was decent but it didnt blow me away like I wanted it too.

I do think it will be great but their are real issues with just to much going on at 1 time. Yep it blows you away at first but after a while I found it a little too much.

Ever heard the saying too many cooks may spoil the brew. Well as strange as it seems I think this is Unreals problem. It does far to much. I'm a huge Unreal fan from the beginning but I think only hardcore shooters will really get into Unreal after a few weeks.

If your looking for MP & SP then COD4. If your after fast, furious MP with bad tacked on SP then get UnrealIII.

I'll be getting both.

i dont even know how warhawk can compare to cod4 or ut3

i havnt played ut3 yet so i cant say for sure but right now i am definitely loving cod4

Cross platform play was originally intended for PS3 and PC versions of UT3. It was removed due to the PC version needing patches and synchronizing game builds between both. Mark did say it was possible in the future after the PC version stabilizes so they would only need to patch the PS3 version once. *Shrug* I hope it makes it cause really I wouldnt buy the PS3 version until it had cross platform play. Ill take UT3 or Warhawk. Warhawk is just fun to me. I love the vehicle aspect of both games and I find Warhawk has just a perfect balance. UT3 then Warhawk. Im just not a standard FPS person.. games like Ghost Recon, Rainbow 6, Battlefield and CoD just never appealed to me.

Never played UT, but after reading the previews etc I had exactly this concern. Hoverboards, vehicles ability to teleport in - it all sounds really cool, but then you go - is that to much? Good point -- might end up with Orange box instead. There are a lot of shooters out there and think only one new is needed until Army of Two comes out....

All three are great games but I had to vote for Warhawk based on the fact that's it's something different then another first person shooter.nosedive51

Well, all are great shooters with great online. Here are your options:

Call of Duty 4: Great but short single player, fun split screen and awesome online, although the online is harder and takes more experience and dedication

Warhawk: No single player, really fun online with high flying dogfights, cool weapons and vehicles, online is fast and easy to pick up

Unreal Tournament 3: Okay single player, fast-paced multiplayer with fun matches, cool weapons and vehicles

I don't know why you wouldn't buy all of them. It's good to have variety in what you're playing. But overall, I'd recommend Call of Duty 4, and then Warhawk, then UT3.
