Coincidence? I don't think so. The quality of Gamespot is in question.

Turok has been out for over a week. Is there a review? No. Is there advertising for Turok all over the site? Yes. Coincidence?

I'm not here to crap on Turok, I'm one of the few people that enjoyed the demo, but this is ridiculous. It's February. It's not like the release calender is crowded right now. There is no good reason this game has not been reviewed yet...

I remember the winter of 2004, where every major release for every system had a video review....a quality video review. I have to go to Gametrailers for that now.

Gamespot, hang your head in shame.

Quit screwing around and get that review up.

Its cause Tuork will likely get a 6.5-7.5 and they dont want to bash a game that they are currently advertising

I know a lot of people are wondering why reviews seem to be lagging. While it is probably common sense to most of you, the loss of two editors (and Ryan Davis' upcoming departure making it number three), as well as the loss of an important freelancer, have put us in a bind. There are only two official reviews editors left once the talented and beloved Mr. Davis leaves (myself and Aaron Thomas), so all I can ask is that you bear with us while we work to fill in the gaps and bring you content as quickly as we canKevin-V

Seriously, with the last batch of losses, GS editorial staff is currently three people: Ricardo Torres, Aaron Thomas, and Kevin Van Ord. They also have a lot of responsibilities with covering DICE, and the upcoming GDC. Managment is likely un affected by the lack of reviews (their revenue is generated by advertising and page hits, which is driven by the forums and previews.) The only people hurt by this current situation are the above three mentioned people, who obviously take alot of pride in their work and are probably embarrased and angry about the situation. They have a chocie, put out an incomplete review, further compromising their standards, or be late to the table. I commend them on making the hard, but strong choice.

I further feel really sorry for these guys. I bet they can't even get freelancers due to the reputation hit they took. I will continue to read reviews here, expressly so those three people know someone appreciates their hard work and integrity.

Did I beat the lock? I'm glad I played the demo, I thought the game was just driving around in one of those weird volkswagons.

I agree, they need to start reviewing games when they are released. I have to check other sites now before GSpot to see if they have a review.

Didn't know the staffing situation was so grim. That is too bad.

I really like the way this site is designed, and the community. It just pisses me off when I have to go somewhere else for reviews...but this situation is unfortunate and obviously not their fault.

Yet they have to be more careful about their reputation if they are to recover. We all know what this looks like.
