Hey,

I have a couple of older PC monitors, both Dell, and I was wondering if these could be used for gaming through the PS3? They do not have HDMI ports, one is one of the bigger, older ones, and the other is an older LCD flatscreen model. What would I need to do to use these as a screens? Also, how would I get audio?

-Thanks

well, first you have to make sure that the monitor has HDCP. I'm guessing that your old big monitor isn't, but I dunno about the LCD monitor. Is it widescreen? If it isn't I'm pretty sure it doesn't have HDCP. Even if it is though, that still doesn't mean it has HDCP.

Chances are that if you don't know if the monitor has HDCP, it probably doesn't have HDCP.

Well I always assumed you needed one with HDMI since I don't know of any VGA or DVI cables for the ps3 like they have for the Xbox. The alternative is the expensive conversion boxes that don't work that great anyway.
