Conan is a really bad game, and yet they rate it the exact same as R&C, i really dont get this at all :|. n00bkid
Def-Jam Icon they actually scored higher. Pretty obvious they should do a re-review, maybe this time with someone who at least owns a PS3.
i've only played the demos, but i'd definitely rate r&c higher than conan. conan wasn't horrible, but it wasn't anything that particularly excited me eitherjacintos09Which is what a 7.5 game should be. Good, not amazing. R&C is amazing:|
This is why I don't pay attention the reviews (Especially from this site). I really decide whether or not to buy games on my own because it's my money that's being spent. MusashiSensi

i bet u havent even played conan **** its actually a really good game, so shutup and leaveSaintsRowSam\
Then that makes R & C a very great game. All kids like it, all women like it, and most adults like it. It's flat out one of the neatest, funest, and best looking games available for young people and women. Not too shabby for guys either.
I have not played the game but judging from the demo I don't know how it got that score( very repetitive 6 hours long...) I would have not giving it anything higher than a 4.0, feels like nothing more than a massively downgraded God of War.
i didnt like conan at all! I would have rated it a 6. something.
i ve never beena fan of ratchet. woulda stuck it with a 7. something anywya

I played conan, it sucks really bad. Are you playing the same game?
reviews usually contradict eachother...like gameinformer gave warioware for the wii like a 6 and gamespot gave it a 9.1...so reviews arent always helpful. In the case of conan, i was sure it was going to get a4 or less! i hated the demo, played it for like 3 minutes, and then deleted it. so i dont trust this review. They say the combat is solid but that was imo the worst part of the demo. it was slow and clunky.
Conan is so laughably third rate it's amazing.
1 part 300 + 1 part Heavenly Sword + 3 parts God of War + 5 parts suck = Conan. It was sort of fun at times to hack stuff up in the demo, but the cutscenes were horribly animated, badly voice acted, and awfully scripted. The graphics were seviceable, but not good, the sound was annoying, the gameplay bland. It looked more like a 6.5 game. 7.0 would be alright, but not when you compare it to R&C.
Different reviewers, simple as that. I'm playing through R&C now and it's easily one of the best platformers ever made. Everyone but Gamespot seems to agree. In this case, disregard their wack interview and look at the critic average or Gamerankings.com.
Playing Ratchet, you can tell that a ton of care went into their product. There isn't a dull moment, there isn't a technical hitch to be seen. I am having loads of fun with it and will definitely play through it again. Every different gameplay element (and there are tons) is done well and just the right amount. The use of tilt is probably the best out there.
The bottom line is that this is one time to just completely ignore Gamespots review and look at the critic average as well as listen to what your fellow gamers have to say.
If you play through the game and think it deserves 7.5 or less I will drop a dook in my hand and eat it.
conan was terrible...i played the demo and stopped after 1 minute...first two worlds then conan? sweet jesus gamespot fails as lifeblazinpuertoroc
qft!

Is that kind of internet tough guy talk really necessary?
Nobody in here said anything that warranted such a childish response from you. Perhaps you should take your own advice?
As to the topic, you can't compare the two types of games. They are in completely different genres, so comparing the scores is impossible. I will say, however, that Ratchet is an awesome game, and based on the Conan demo I don't think it's any good.
I'll probably give Conan a rent one day, seeing as I like gore, but the demo didn't do nearly enough to make me think about buying it.
im sorry, but for those people that say Conan is a good or an amazing game...you have no taste in games, you should just quit gaming :|n00bkidso because you say conan is bad after playing the demo then other people are wrong and have no taste in games, people have different taste in games, that doesnt mean they should stop playing games.
That seems to be a fitting score for conan, but R & C was robbed.lethal18
Indeed, I own and am playing both. I actually agree with the Conan review. Despite the PS2 graphics, and rather cheesy dialogue, the game is fun as hell, and the combos that you can learn are brutal. This is truly a case where graphics do not matter, as the game is just plain fun. After you play it for a while, you realize that it captures that raw Conan feel really well.
Ratchet and Clank though, did indeed get robbed. On a level of pure quality and production value, it is in another league completely than the likes of Conan. It is a beautiful, fun, humorous, smooth as silk game for everyone that does everything right, and rarely anything wrong. The score is a joke, and most people outside of the cess pool of System Wars and Gamespot in general knows it.
Seriously, I was just back in System Wars for a bit, and the lemming fanboys are getting so notorious over there it is disgusting. It has always been bad, mind you. But ever since this Ratchet and Clank Future debacle, it is like walking into a viper pit if you go in there trying to talk positive about anything PS3 related.
Conan is a really bad game, and yet they rate it the exact same as R&C, i really dont get this at all :|. n00bkid
The reviews started to go downwards when Greg Kasavin left. I won't be suprised if MGS4 gets a 7 here and 95% on metacritic.
