Conflict demo? Opinions?

I can't seem to get to sleep, so I feel like having off-the-wall discussions with people I don't know.

Anyways, what did everyone think of the new conflict game that was recently released in demo form over PSN?

Personally, I thought it was a giant mess as soon as I loaded the start screen.

A major issue I had, maybe I am alone here, but it felt like I had gone back in time and I was playing Counter-Strike: Condition Zero?

The looks, even the graphic quality, seemed very poor to me.

One thing that I found very wacky, were the explosive barrels. Every single time I shot a barrel, it would fling into the air, and then explode when it hit the ground. I did not realize I was underwater. The only relative fun I had in the entire experience was attempting to shoot an airborne barrel.

Also, there is one part where a helicopter will fly above you while you are in a building, and begin shooting. The guy on the radio then says "SHOOT TEH CHOPPER". But all I did was stand there and stare at it, as it missed every bullet.

THEN OUT OF NOWHERE IT CRASHES INTO THE BUILDING.

At that moment I officially smacked my palm against my face, saw that the screen had said "demo complete", and continued to remove the thing before anyone could say 3.5/10.

Anyone else?

I was bored and decided "hey, people should talk about this just for the hell of it".

I agree with your graphics statement, though.

I thought it was kinda cool, but I know I'm in the minority. I definitely wouldn't classify it as an "epic fail".. because it does have some very nice elements. I thought the voice work was pretty decent, and many of the animations looked good... even though the texturing and lighting weren't up to par.

Oh well, I just have strange taste in games I guess, plus... shooters aren't really my thing.

I don't like slamming a game unless it's truly unplayable, but I suppose with all the award winning fps games out there now, it's financial suicide for a studio to release a mediocre shooter like Conflict and expect success.

Really? That's pretty brutal.

No but even so, I didn't think the voicework was done well either.

I mean when the guy in the radio DID talk to me, it didn't even sound like a radio output. It just sounded like some guy was standing next to me making static noises while talking.

I believe that is poor programming dude, not voicework. But yeah, I take it you didn't like the demo. efflux02

I'm kind of happy I made this thread.

It's nice to see how passionate people are about crappy games. (myself included).

Eidos needs to make another Hitman, already.

I actually feel like somewhat of a "loser" for actually completing the demo.

I want that time back, Sony, maybe in the form of new PixelJunk Monsters content. I'll take that.

I think the leaning with the D-pad was a good idea gone wrong. Very very wrong. Like. You cant use it next to a coner so why have it.

Stopped after 7min. of playing.

Final view? NO WONDER THESE GUYS WERE DENIED!

Eidos has been making lots of crap lately, Kane and Lynce was one of em right? Oh, I wish they would make another Timesplitters, because I know that they made the 2nd I'm not sure about the rest.Durkoki

Eidos never made Timesplitters, Free Radical Design did. They are now working on HAZE so you will be waiting a little longer for them to make the next timesplitters. But don't think eidos has anything to do with the quality of Timesplitters.

Roflmao now that cat pic made me lol, and on topic to the guy who said Free Radical made Timesplitters 2, I have it and it says Eidos Interactive at the title screen, did I mistake them for the developer? Maybe they are the publisher.

This game is beautiful it made my nuts shrink back up.

it was the single worst thing i've ever played on PS3 to date, this game makes Gundam look like GOW, its just completely horrible, i didn't even finish the demo.americahellyeah
