The only bad thing about coppying from your PS3 to your Ipod, for some reason when your done it won't show the names of the song on your Ipod. They will just show as Track 1, Track 2, etc... but they still play.
Thank you SmokenAshes for your answer.
I tried to do what you describe in your post, but when I hit the triangle button to display all, tried to highlight every file I then saw and pressed the x button to hear the melody I had highlighted. It did not work. I then saved one file to my HDD, but did not work there either.
When you have done number 4 in your list, can`t you just highlight the file/files, press x and then listen to the song before you copy it. If it does not work then it will not work after copying it.?
Have I misunderstood any of this?
I have tried that, but no good. My PS3 can not read the data from the Ipod. All the songs are downloaded directly from Itunes. I had hoped it would work but no such luck.
Again. Thank you for your efforts to help a fellow PS3 owner.
Played on up to five computers
Synced with your iPod
Synced with or streamed to your Apple TV
Burned to audio CDs or DVDs (you can burn a song an unlimited number of times, and as part of a playlist up to seven times)
if you have itunes plus (39.99 i think) you can have access to music that is DRM free which have no usage restrictions and feature higher quality encoding, these I'm sure can be played on your PS3. If you bought some music from itunes Plus and it still doesn't play on your PS3 then go to your itunes Plus purchased library (wherever you have your itunes plus music stored) select the songs you want to play on your PS3 and hit *control* which will bring up an options menu. Then hit "CONVERT SECTION TO AAC" This format I'm sure can be played on the PS3. If it STILL doesn't work from you ipod, transfer all the AAC/itunes Plus, encoded music to a flash drive and save it to your PS3 if none of this helps then I'm afraid to say, your on your own.

Genius. Ive been using redkawa file server. but im gonna do the ipod idea now.
TC what kind of iPod are you using? Shuffle, Nano, Video, or Touch? My 30GB video works fine, besides the lettering of some songs, but someone on this forum once said their iPod Touch didn't work at all. It could be as simple as what iPod your using.
So my stupid ps3 says I had to update the system software so i do it and now i cant play games anymore because it wont recognize any discs. a friend suggested that i transfer all of my ps3 files onto my ipod and then restore the system and then after it is restored transfer the data back. Will this work? i have a 16 gb nano ipod that works when i hook it up to my system and i have all my ipod songs already copied onto my ps3
