connecting ps3 to a 5.1?

i have tree cables front, rear and center/woofer (just how you connect it to a pc see pic below)

but how do i connect this to a ps3, i've heard about a logitech adapter but is there a another way?

For true 5.1 you have to use the digital dolby input.

You can't do it without something to split the digital signal from the PS3 i.e. a 5.1 receiver.

From your post, I assume that's what the 'adaptor' you mentioned does - it takes the optical audio out from the PS3 and splits it into 5+1 channels? However, I've never seen a 5.1 receiver that uses only 3 cables, they always output with 6.

With 3 stereo cables, the only way to get 5+1 sound is if the sub cable also carries the centre speaker, which I've never heard of, so I think your boogered.
