Guess what guys, it's a petition! Yay!

http://www.petitionspot.com/petitions/manhunt2

Okay, we all know that it won't do any good, but please keep in mind that people do take note of these petitions. This is especially so for the developers. Even if we're 99% sure that this petition will not change anyone's mind, there's still principles at stake here. Not only have entire nations banned the game, but elements within the US have taken steps to make sure it is effectively banned here even if not officially so. Because this has removed our choice as consumers, and pretty much allowed the ESRB to decide the fate of someone else's art and free speech, we're stuck with both the retailers AND Sony/Nintendo treating the entirety of the gaming community like they're children who have no idea what's good for them. When they assume that their consumer-base consists of one ratio that matters and another that doesn't, they're proving that they don't understand their consumers, and they need to be informed of their mistake.

Please keep in mind that this is not simply about the Manhunt franchise. It's about consumer treatment.

Who cares? Manhunt looks incredibly retarded. If you're that psyched for a murder simulator, you should probably seek therapy. Games are supposed to be fun, they aren't supposed to make me feel bad for playing them.

Bleh, Manhunt's a joke. To me, it just seems like Mortal Kombat. Game sucks and it's only selling point is blood and gore, big deal. Only weird people with short attention spans care about this imo. I just don't see a point to this pixelated snuff film junk. Even the first one sucked (game wise), with it's broken GTA engine lol

Well you can pretty much do both on GTA. But atleast GTA is more diverse and has a story as far as it being compared to Manhunt goes. lol

This whole AO thing is a complete and utter marketing ploy. Graphically violent games like Manhunt 2 get initial AO ratings all the time. Developers try to get away with as much as possible in their games so they are continually submitting to the ESRB, editting and resubmitting until they just get by with an M rating. This is nothing new. Have absolutely no doubt that Manhunt 2 will get an M rating and be released in all places that carried the first game.

I would buy a copy just to have it, I got a kick out of the original but I must have some deep issues as a poster above mentioned

If they were available and there was a rumour of a possible ban people would flock to get a copy before it got pulled.

idk i mean i think its alittle over done to ban a video game. im sure that the game is very violent and should have a mature to an adult rating but a ban? thats just alittle over the top. all in all its just a video game, for people to be banning this just seems like it is being over analyzed, there are alot of others things to worry about in the world today then this
