The rules are simple. Stress out your PS3. Try to lock the beast up.

Play games, Blu-Ray's, F@H, etc.

The first person to report their PS3 is locked up with a screenshot gets a jar of delicious cookies.

The photo must include your GS username otherwise we cry foul.

Go!

I could take a picture at any time of my PS3 and it will look frozen and/or locked up.

Maybe a video would be better.

But it's not going to happen.

Said all this before. My PS3 has been with me for 3 months now in Iraq. Temp outside is about 120 and if we move it to a command tent its about 140. Mix in all the sand and grime and you have a system that looks like it should be pinned with a purple heart. It has survived 5 inspections from Military Police (one where they shook it to see if anything was inside), 4 trips inside a troop transporter (AAV) and 2 trips in a backpack on a C-17 (jet that lands SUPER hard).

Now with all this my PS3 (and a buddys of mine) has yet to freeze or fall back. Some other systems (Hmmmm) have a life of a week or so. Dont get me wrong, Im gona need a new one as soon as I get home next week (fingers crossed) but this thing runs like a champ just like its little brother. If you guys can lock it up its gota be a game thing and not the system I would think.

Locked up once in Oblivion, but of course that just Oblivion's fault. Locked up once in FFVII, right in the middle of one of the leviathan battles. Reset itself once because it was sitting ontop of my already really warm surround reciever.

I like the story of the war-torn PS3. I believe it. Kindof a clunky thing to carry around on your back in Iraq, but must be so worth it.

Play Oblivion for a long time then bring a bunch of enemies to one of the many random loading spots and fight them, its sure to freeze up or at least the possibility increases.

When you are forced to stay awake and alert for 20 hours at a time it comes in handy. Then when you get back from whatever you just did your to pumped to sleep. Slide in R:FOM. And yes, it does suck everytime we move.

My PS3 froze when I was playing Final Fantasy 12. It does'nt take much to freeze up, if it does that with a PS2 game.

That console should be retired in a nice place when you get home from over there. But this just shows how much Sony cared about durability when they were designing the console. Makes me feel better about my purchase.

My little bro has a bad habit of hitting the eject disc button while I'm playing. That seems to freeze the PS3.

Mine locked up last night, all I had to do was reset it and it was fine. It locked up when I left store, just showed the loading sign in the top right corner.

Easiest way to do it is in Oblivion take a scroll dupe it than pick up only 1 and dupe it again and keep doing that until you have like a couple 100 of the same scroll than get the biggest weapon in your inventory and dupe it with the scrolls that you just duped thinking about it now that might actually kill it.

Never froze on me, not once. I'd never try to force such a thing.

lol thats quite easy, just open up like 4 web browsers have them load at the same time while simultaneously loading music, then trying to stop the web browsers...freeze.

Mine froze up just recently when I was playing Madden 08 and clicked on the franchise room. It locked up and none of the buttons would do anything. I turned it off and back on and it was fine.

I have a 20GB since Christmas of last year. It only has freezed up once. Seeing the extreme conditions the Marine has put his through. It is a well built oiled machine. I SUPPORT OUR TROOPS!!!

I froze mine playing oblivion, I ran into the middle of kavatch which caused everything to start attacking me, then I ran away but got trapped in a corner with about 15 ice golems/spiders/big lizard things after the intense lag the PS3 froze. It made me sad

I can just picture a missle bouncing off the PS3 :D

I had it lock up in resistance, when I threw a hedgehog into a bunch of windos and enemies :D
