Will the controller adapter let me use the playstation 2 controllers for ps3 games? If i can just buy the adapter then i can save 49.99 instead of having to buy another one.

Yea its fully compatible. I have one myself and it works great. I jus bought it because im going to be getting the DS3 so yea. Get tha adapter.

i had trouble finding them as well until I went to my nearest Circuit City, they had like 4 or 5 of them in stock.

Keep in mind these have been used for connecting PS2 controllers to your PC for years now, you don't need a special PS3 adapter for it.
