Controller is not charging!!!

every time i dont play, i leave my controller charging, ,so now, i charged it over night, and as i check the status, it shows 2 bars of battery left...why isn't it charging?, does the ps3 have to be totally on for this to charge?

you can also charge your controller by using your computer usb... just like the ipod.

I dont understand why SONY couldn't have made the PS3 charge the controllers whilst it is in standby mode. It is kind of a pain in the arse this way. USB does not draw that much power, so i dont think that the tree huggers would have too much to complain about.

O well, I can always use the pc to charge it I guess....
