...that has to be the most worthless TV ever created...sorry man.justin_06i agree, sorry to say but what hdtv has 1080i but not 720p? what brand is it?
I have a hdtv that supports 480p and 1080i. Since my tv doesnt support 720p it will downscale to 480p which makes the game look pretty bad on a 55' tv plus it flickers a lot. I tried to uncheck 480p from the display option but its greyed out, is there any other way?PKim7u can uncheck 480p? i thought that one must be checked? another solution, dont buy EA games!

Yeah the tv is almost 5 years old and its a Phillips. I cant get a new tv right now so this will have to do. Playing games with 480p on 55' aint pretty.
sounds to me like your T.V is one of the old school HDTVs. So, it only displays 1080i and 480p. On your PS3 display settings it could do an automatic search for best display. This should pick the 1080i. If not, check the 1080i box in display settings. Hopefully that works.FuaTokoFau
This doesnt help him at all. if the game doesnt support anything higher than 720p, it will revert back to 480p.
He will have to buy games that support 1080i.

Yeah thats the problem. 480p and 1080i are both checked so when a game doesn't support 1080i it will downscale to 480p which sucks.
That shouldn't be too much of a problem b'cuz most of the games if not all support 1080i, so i don't no y it's downscaling to 480p.larocabottom1well if u dont get EA games..

The only games that I have that support 1080i: MGS4, GT5: P, Assassins Creed, R6:V, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, and Darkness. Almost all the games I want (uncharted and Madden for example) don't. Its actually really hard to find a game that supports 1080i.
sorry but that aint going to help his problem, his tv is an old hdtv, no problem though 480p doesnt look that bad, i used to play on a 480i for about a year then switched!do you have HDMI hook up to your t.v or is it DVI it should be at the back of the t.v

Your right 480p is not that bad but it flickers a lot. It seems like its trying to downscale while i keep playing, its pretty damn annoying. Thats my main problem. BTW it is hdmi to dvi.

The two games I really want (uncharted and RC:TOD) don't support it, and like someone else said, EA games don't support it either.
