i have a ps2, xbox 360, and nintendo ds.

i really want a psp for god of war (might get the red psp bundle), but i'm not only going to get it for that. why else should i get it? i'm not interested in listening to music on it and if the internet isn't capable of surfing youtube then scratch that too. what else does it have to offer other than god of war?

Final Fantasy Tactics, Burnout Legends, Grand Theft Auto:LCS and VCS, Legend of Heroes Tear in Vermillion, Crisis Core, NHL 07, NFL Street 2, Tales of Eternia, Midnight Club 3, Juiced, Syphon Filter, Socom, Killzone, patapon Echocrome, just to name a few. Plus you got gran turismo coming out next year as well. if you don't find any of those interesting then don't buy a psp. it wouldn't hurt getting a list of all the avaliable games.

well if there are only a handful of games you want(i assuming you looked at a list of all the avaliable games, as well as future games) then maybe the psp isn't right for you. It's already been stated the psp will have a lifespan of 10 years, its been about 3-4 years already, so expect another 6 years. NO ONE but sony knows if there will be a psp2, very much doubt it will be this year or even next, if your one of the people that are nervous about it, then wait till E3. Don't expect another GoW soon, given the new one just released. The psp is more than just GoW and Crisis Core, there are so many entertaining games; games that i thought would suck, but when i tried them i found out i was wrong. Oh yah forgot to mention Hotshot Golf 1 and 2. I don't know what more you need to be convinced, at this point all the facts are laid out.

The same. What would you be filling the MS mostly with? Videos? 2GB. Music? 1GB Video+Music? i'd say 2GB, to be safe 4GB.

Games everyone should try:

Ratchet & Clank
Daxter
Secret Agent Clank
GTA Liberty City / Vice City Stories
Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror / Logan's Shadow
Hot Shots Golf: Open Tee / OT2
Lego Star Wars
Lumines
Burnout Legends / Dominator
MLB 08 The Show
SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo / FB2
Patapon
Wipeout Pure / Pulse
Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness
Tekken Dark Resurrection
Sid Meier's Pirates
MGS Portable Ops
Killzone Liberation
LocoRoco

And to top those off, there are a handful of downloadable PSOne c l a s s i c s (this word is filtered) that you can get from the PS Store on your PC. Games like Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, and Castlevania: SotN might be worth a look. There really are tons of fantastic games no matter what genres you prefer.

Yah you can transfer data from your memory stick to your PC(copy and paste the files), back to another memory stick or the same one. I back up my data from saved games. You either need an adapter for your memory stick(some come with them) or a usb connector that connects your psp to your pc.

Huge memory for videos and pictures, online modes. There also loads of great games. I found that often the ones you don't know about are the best. I would recommend Medal Of Honor Heroes 2.

There are lots of playstation ports that come to the PSP. Not to mention movies, music, pictures, web browsing. I think the PSP is for more hardcore gamers, the DS is nice to pick up once in a while but I'm in love with my PSP. Can you play GTA on your DS?

do you think its a possibility for them to add it to games? maybe they didn't becasue the constant connectyion would drain battery all the time. what did the last update add?

This is THE system to own if you like Strategy RPG's.

  • Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness
  • Jeane d'Arc
  • Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions

To name a few. There are also some good RPG's, such as:

  • The Legend of Heroes Series (I-III here in the US). - Which if you can get past the bland combat and iffy dialog is an entertaining game.
  • Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth - It might be a port of a PSX title, but it was a good game then as it is now.
  • Final Fantasy I, II - They're classics... and they look gorgeous on the PSP. That said, you have to enjoy old turn based strategy games... because these won't hold your hand and they really cannot stand up to the flash and pomp of modern games.

And some good action games, such as:

  • Metal Gear Portable Ops
  • Siphon Filter
  • Along with a large collection of arcady type games,
  • Lumines I, II.
  • Puzzle Quest
  • flOw
  • R-Type
  • Murcury
  • Lemmings.

And many more.

Plus, the PSP is one sweet multimedia device. If you shell out the money for a larger memory card, it can become a wonderful portable movie/video/music player. The web browser isn't great, as it resizes websites funny, but it works.

Also, if you ever add a PS3 to your collection, this sweet baby can Remote Play your old PS1 games. Though only games prior to analogue required control. What Remote Play does is your PSP wirelessly connects to your PS3 through a network, from any hotspot, and you can see and control what your PS3 runs. It's not exactly as great as actually having the game on your PSP, but it is the next best thing. I've gotten hours of fun playing Final Fantasy VIII on my PSP.

As that last paragraph alluded to, the PSP can download certain games straight onto its memory card. Sony occasionally releases old PSX games in a format that the PSP can play. My favorites so far are Wild ArMs and MidEvil.

All in all, it is a wonderful buy, the gaming library may have a rather dim future right now, but it already has a very solid base, if you only give the games a shot.

lol, that's what I get for not reading through all the posts. Congrats on your buy.
