I am going to purchase a PS3, not sure if 40 gb or 80 gb is right for me. Can you transfer mp3 music files from USB memory stick to the 40gb model? with the xbox 360, the only way to get my music on there was to copy from CD, is this the case with PS3?

Get an external hard drive, plug it in usb style, and just copy your whole music folder. extremely easy to do. using a memory stick you cant hold even close to as many songs as you could with an external hard drive, it would just take too long transferring songs then deleting songs and adding new ones.

It seems to take forever to really transfer all my songs onto my USB (though i think i was using my USB port in my keyboard which is 1.1 instead of 2.0) but the PS3 does it very fast. The only thing with the ps3 is that, atleast for me, you have to copy them one at a time.

Can the ps3 read zune subscription music service downloads or do they have to be strictly MP3s in order for the ps3 to read them?

Hey, I cant manage to sync my external WD 1TB via USB to my PS3.. it doesnt seem to recognise at all. Does it matter whether or not its FAT32 or NTFS?

I have many folders in this also.. do they need to be organised any specific way??

Thanks, scott

It has to be Fat 32 or the PS3 won't see it. You don't need to have folders in a specific way. Just push triangle and "view all".

You can setup a media server and just copy all the songs you need directly from your PC over your network, no need for USB sticks and stuff. Thats what I do.....
