Call Sony customer service, they are better equipped to help you...

If you're 100% certain that the hard-drive is corrupted then it's likely that data-recovery will impossible. Unless you download a program called Easy Recovery which has helped me multiple times with HD failures on PC's. Will it work for a PS3 hard-drive? Not sure, plus you'd need to remove the HDD from the PS3, attach it to an external enlcosure, and then run the Easy recovery program. You're better off just calling Sony and asking them if they can ship you a new HD (doubt they will because they will want to ensure that the HDD is bad as to thwart scammers, so you'll most likely have to send it to them). If you just don't feel like dealing with them at all and you have some extra cash, just go out and buy a new 2.5" SATA HDD. It's really easy to remove the HDD from the PS3, and just as easy to install a new one.
