Could SOCOM be a bust?

I am really looking forward to the game, but could it end up not living up to the hype. i am not concerned with the graphics or anything, but I mean everything has to work fluidly for this team based shooter. For example servers must not lag and the head set needs to be good as well.

I really want this game, but anyone else fear it may be a a bust?

BTW, I am not a 360 fanboy. I dont even own a 360.

I think it wont be as good as the hype. I mean, I was expecting GTA 4 to be amazing with all the hype it got. It was ok, but not as great as it could have been.

Personally, I might wait for the next one since this one is developed by Slant Six Games, not the original makers of SOCOM

Yah way to judge a game and yet you base it all on a video and not actually playing it. I dont think it will be a bust the last few socoms were not that good IMO and they still sold pretty well. this one is a much better version its taking it back to its roots of socom 1 and 2 so many changes to the maps is awesome maybe be only 7 maps but about 35-40 different when you add in all the game types, night and day and size you can play. It has good feel to it, my only gripe is my guy moves so slow imo and i have even dropped all gear to see how fast he would be when going light and still but the network will be fine when its all said and done thats the whole point of this beta Network only issues to fix.

Yup, because we all know graphics make a game.......(roll eyes)...anyway to answer the question here, it won't be the best overall shooter this year if thats what u or someone else is expecting, but it will be a amazing online game imo.

Well, all my life I've decided what to buy based on gameplay videos and screenshots. I never even read previews. I've developed a good eye for the games I'd like. Look at my collection on my gamespot profile. There's many different types of games in my collection so it's not like I only play one type of game.

SOCOM's not a game for me. I've played other SOCOM games in the past and didn't like them either. I know the series has its fans but I'm not one of them. I think this new SOCOM will get low review scores too.

I never said anything about the graphics....(gives wizdom the finger).....

I think it has the potential to be a bust, playing the beta, yeah it's fun but the gameplay quirks are what make it fall short.

The bullet spray is still terrible and I think the hit detection is off. Sniping is really never spot on as far as the shots and most of the scopes you can equip are useless because the shots don't always go where the crosshair is(Why that is I do not know).

Just today, I don't know if it was lag or not, but I shot an enemy player, killed him and his body flops to the floor yet his gun was still firing from his hand, flailing his hand all over till I died.

I think they need to remove this encumberence system and the armor "types" cuz in my opinion it's really just silly. And if they dont remove it, which I highly doubt they will, they need to increase the bullet damage in all guns across the board just slightly. Most of the time sniper rifles kill in one shot, but half the time it takes 2. I've shot people in the stomach twice to kill them.

Lastly, why in the HELL would you be able to equip an acog scope or red dot sight to your gun when you have to shoot in third person and if you fire full auto it takes you out of the sight anyway? Probably the most retarded addition to this game.
