Well I just noticed that theres a new big BS chain message on PSN, this time, some idiot thought it would be cool to say that PSN will also charge for online play unless they see that chain of protest being sended 500000 before the first of december.

So I just made this counter chain, you may want to send it to everyone on your friend list...it should keep the people who believes on them quiet for a while:

tittle: CHAIN MESSAGES ARE BANNABLE!

description:

Sony has just stated that the use of "chain messages" via PSN-messaging is, from now on, a bannable offense and direct violation to PSN TOS, according to sony, this chains take away many space and memory from the messaging center by flling it with spam (repeated messages store as a single one in the server, making a huge file which consumes more space on the server) the server only haves space for 300 messages more until they remove the chains!

they have just allowed this chain to be sended, to notify every possible user about this, pls send it to everyone on your friend list.

punishments for the infractors will vary from 3 days banning, or will have thier authority to send messages via psn for 3 weeks.

How about not. How about people just delete them. This is nothing but another chain letter.

I don't get any chain messages because I don't play online games and don't add people to my friend list.

so? its a chain letter to stop the other ones...the difference is that the only purpose of this chain is to make A LOT OF PEOPLE WHO BELIEVE IN THE CHAINS to STOP sending them! I hate to get chains, yeah I can delete them, but still, its annoying to have them...I rarely add people who I play online with, but when I do they NEVER send me a chain message, I only get them from people WHO I PLAYED WITH, but I never added them

How about you just ignore them...You know, read, delete and then move on. There is no way I am typing all of that everytime I get a chain letter....Neither should anybody else...And I doubt that would stop them anyway.

I just said its extremely annoying to get them...and everytime I read them I get like "OH THE HUMANITY...HOW COULD SOMEONE BELIEVE ON THIS BS???!!!" then I instantly get a cup of rage served in my table, and its unnevitable to drink it! even if I delete them and all that...they just shouldn't exist...and trust me...if those guys believe in chain messages...they will believe in this one and they will stop sending them...

Im just saying...dont you ever feel that thing...when you read an emai...and as you read through it you realize its completly false (or just looking at the title) like those mssages which say "SEND THIS TO OTHER 20 PEOPLE ON 5 MINUTES AND THEN PRESS F12, YOU WILL BE ABLE TO SEE THE NAME OF YOUR LOVE IN THE SCREEN!" dont you just want to squeeze the guy who started the chain??!!

Alright I shall bite, I don't get mad at those but the people on this damn forum who don't use the right threads do get on my nerves so I can see where you are coming from in a way. Maybe, just maybe if people had more sense and stop believing these messages then they would stop.

I'm not sure how a chain letter that tells the user not to "chain" is going to work...

You're right. But really, if it infuriates you constantly re-direct people to the "good" threads, just don't do it. I know by experience that each time you make someone understand that there are specific threads to post in, there are 5 other people to replace him/her.

We can't win. :(

And on the subject, I don't believe in fighting fire with fire. Just like others already suggested, I would just ignore the messages.

I think the reason that people don't post in the recommendations thread is that it's a large thread, so their posts tend to be left unanswered, but when they post their question as a new thread, it receives more feedback.

this

This is what I did to the fools who sent me those stupid thangs. Haven't gotten one since. This also helps weed out young kids, people of low intelligence who believe it, and generally annoying people.
