#1 - Does it play DVD's properly? I know its a blueray/DVD player but I want to know that any of you had any problems with this feature?

#2 - Can I listen to music from my PS3 just like my PC. If I copy a couple of MP3's using a USB drive, Would I have any problems playing and listening to them using my TV.

#3 - Does it play movies without the DVD's just like a PC. I have a couple a movies on my PC that I wanna see on my TV. SO my question is that if I can play them, do I have to convert them? If so, in which format?

#4 - Does the PS3 40GB (I am buying because I find the 80GB useless and way too overpriced) have any problems running any games. Is it anyway different except for lacking BC (Dont care, already a have PS2), memory readers (Useless, I prefer USB drive) and crome trim on the bottom etc. Is there any thing I missed?

Thanks. Appreciate any feed back. Happy Xmas to those that celebrate it....

1: Yes, unless the console is defective, 2: If you hook up an mp3 player to a usb drive, yes, or you can rip cds to the console, 3: Not sure, 4: Again, It should run fine unless the console is defective; Plays all Blu Ray movies and games. Hope that helps!

1) Yes

2) Yes

3) It plays MPEG, MPEG2, MPEG4, AVC, and most DivX and Xvid encoded Avi's (great for movies, requires latest firmware). A few Avi's may require conversion, which can be easily done with PS3video9. If you're gonna convert something, you're best bet is MPEG2 at the highest bitrate you can. It's also worth mentioning that it plays some VC-1 encoded WMV's, but playback of this format is limited.

4) I think the only thing you missed about the 40 GB is that it only has 2 USB ports, instead of 4.

And to add something extra, the PS3's movie playback featureis awesome, you may end up wanting as much hardrive space as you can get to store your movies.

THanks man! I'll probably have most movies in avi any way and if they aren't, I'll just end up converting them. I knew about the ports just forgot. And about the HDD space, I'll just get a bigger harddrive later on.

Thanks again!
