"All listed parties arenow restrained from distributing, providing, or otherwise trafficking in any PS3 security circumvention technology, including: products, services, methods, codes, and software tools, among others. Hotz must also remove and links from his website that directs others to the hacking software. "

i dont think it changes much, but at least its something to make GEOHOT cry at night and bring down his Im so cool ego.
I hate that guy.
I could care less about the pirates, its more so the guys that have the capability to ruin most of the online games.
they should have just given them the death sentence to make a point to all would be hackers you **** with sony you dieelbert_b_23Although that might be a little much, I would like to see GeoHotz made into an example that will make other hackers think twice.

This. It may not change much, but at least it shows that the law is not necessarily on his side. Now, he's probably worrying his ass off about what's gonna happen next. And I'm glad. He deserves it.This might be a small thing to some of you but in business perspective this is important to publishers, developers and platform holders especially Sony. It showed Sony can something to maintain publishers and developers trust.
It proved that hackers don't always win. If Sony is able to get things their way then expect other companies will follow suit and reopen closed cases. I don't know if that is a good or bad.

Easy way to bypass that statement, if the hacker were to leave his computer purposely unprotected and another hacker (his friend or someone) were to hack his computer and steal the keys its still out in the open.
He isn't distributing or providing or trafficking, he just left his computer unprotected. He's not providing any links either, so its perfect... ;)

Ah Denj, you are so correct, yet again...
... the lad is a hacker attacking the PS3...
... it's obvious he's not doing anything involving his testicles. He'd never miss 'em.
This is great news! I hope they make an example out of this gut to scare some of the would be hackers into stopping.. Geohot is an egotistical punk who has ruined alot of things for alot of people, and i'm glad he's gonna pay for it. Lock him up in federal pound me in the a** prisonPoisoN_Facecam0
It's not making an example for anyone to scare. All this meant was he was a juvenile idiot with an inflated ego. A smart hacker would not repeat or make those mistakes. The real ones "leave no trails".
come on man, can't we at least relish the fact that Geo's gonna be sweatin' bullets?Dude, it's already "out". What difference does it make? Does anyone actually believe this stops at Geo..?
If you think he's the only capable hacker in the world....you're an idiot.
Denji
I'll take what I can get in this effin mess
