Is it really good? Iwas going to get it for my first game, but I watched a video of it and it looked kinda blaaaaaaaaah. Like do you just click x over and over. I know the video cutcenes look good, but is that the only reason to get it. I mean is it fun to play?

Choose Hard mode and you'll respect the gameplay... The game will punish you in Hard mode, if you blindly hit the X button.

As for your question... it's a good enough RPG for what the PSP has to offer. And if you played FFVII, it's even better.

I think the game was more engineered to appeal to those that already played other games in the FF7 Compilation to expand on an already immensely in-depth story line. Unlike Dirge of Cerberus, which relies only on the story and none on the gameplay to appeal to FF7 fans, Crisis Core has both the excellent story and a creative battle system. Playing on hard will definitely keep you from relying on button mashing and keep you involved in the combat, although the DMW can get somewhat aggrivating when it comes to levelling up. All in all as a returning fan of the Final Fantasy series, especially Final Fantasy 7, I was really pleased with the game, although I think a FF8 spin-off game would be refreshing.

I have been playing on Normal difficulty and have not resorted to button mashing. With some of the more difficult missions if you stick with the X button, you will get knocked out very quickly.

The game is worthwhile if only for the cinematics. I'ma amazed they were able to put Advent Children quality cutscenes into the game. Wow.

the game seems to be good though I've never tried FF games before except for FF Xll ( which was horrible)

but since this game is Action role-playing I thought I would give it a shot.

Let me put it this way: I used to think no FF game would be able to top the sheer awesomeness that was FF12.

Then I bought Crisis Core. :D

In short, it is a MUST HAVE. Easily the best RPG on the PSP.
