Its the events leading up to the next final fantasy 7 and basically shows how everyone gets were they are.
I havent played FF7.I bought crisis core and at the middle of the game,it still feels a pain to play this game. Its really empty cuz theres not a lot of location.Theres plenty of missions but i get bored after a while and i played about 20hours.Its just enough to see how empty this game is.I prefer by far a game without story like monster hunter or phantasy star portable than a game that try to be a console-RPG but just cant.Im sick of the gay look of our chars who always look nice and **** its personnal...im just tired of this cuz theres a billion hero that look like him.Theres no world map so its FULL LINEAR.The only thing that keeps you for coming back is the magic creation and the story for FF7 fans.
Personnaly,i prefer by far, dude,a simple heroic story from ninja gaiden on xbox than a super ultra classic FF7 story.
Hey cant they make us a hero that dont look like Emo,gay, beautiful and rich?
I would like to see a mindless killer full of scars, when the sword hit the ennemy, you can actually see how painfull it is,lot of blood and agony...brutal stuff. How can a sword make a tshing! with a flash and the ennemy almost die laughing....weird
Honestly, I was pretty disappointed with this title. It's by no means awful or anything, but the combat was a tedious chore, imo.
Its a prequel to the criticly acclaimed Final Fantasy 7.
Its a extremely popular game.
Personally I thought it was trash, quite possibly the worst RPG Ive played. It has pretty well told story and nice graphics but the enviornments are bland, the combat is tedius and an overall mess, and the game is way too short.
Wiki the term "Ardent Fan" or "Fanboy" to find out what the hype is about a FF title... I got the game on advice of this forum and regretted it... and before you bunkos start trashing on me for "not knowing what I'm talking about", I played through "FFVII", and "FFX" to their completion (though at least in te case of "FFX" I certainly didn't do ALL of the sidequests and find EVERY extra easter egg)... I was a player of the series casually all the way back to the SNES as a matter of fact... so spare me your BS commentary about how I'm trolling or bashing.
The truth of it is, some are gonna dig it and others aren't. That's hype for ya. Trying to get EVERYONE'S money, not just the true-believers. Take it from someone who was inclined in the first place but found themselves being taken... "Don't Believe The Hype!"
Chuck D. said that over a decade ago, and his words still ring true today.
Epic story, deep characters, and great graphics vs. bad gameplay, monotonous missions, and a confining world. As for the levelling, I rather liked it. It was a nice departure from the norm. SpurnerU liked the levling? I mean it was based on luck. You could have fought a whole bunch of battles and not level up. Its very random. Just need to happen to get 7 in a row 777.....
I don't know. Maybe it's my inner gambler being channeled. I like watching those reels spin.SpurnerLol. I liked the roulette. I just think they could have based you Overall Level a diffrent way. I like though how u did the Special moves and stuff.
I can't STAND the way random outcomes are woven into these games sometimes... you should be rewarded for your ability to coordinate your party's abilities and how you get the job done... not "Well, You Won... Now It's Time To Spin The Price-Is-Right Showcase Wheel!"
If you haven't played the original Final Fantasy 7, you may not like this game.
And if you do like it and decide to play the original one, it'll ruin the experience a little bit, because you got spoiled :)
And the level system isn't random, there's a hidden experience counter...
Everyone keeps talking about this game and how awesome it is... I am not even fimilar with the title, will someone be kind enough to tell me about this game?OMG_iTz_Evoit has final fantasy 7 on its title. most people consider ff7 as the pinnacle of jrpgs because jrpgs are not popular before but because of ff7 on ps1, the jrpg genre became popular.
I haven't played any of the games in the series, but I must say Crisis Core is hands down my favorite PSP game of all time, so far at least. I liked it so much, in fact, that I am now playing through FFVII.
However, though, I will attest to the fact that it's not for everyone. Sometimes great graphics, great sound, and great voice acting just don't cut it. If you don't like RPGs at all, you probably won't like this. But I'm really not a fan of RPGs for the most part, and Crisis Core is a big change from the average RPG, even Final Fantasy VII seemed to give off a different kind of quality to me, it just doesn't feel as cheap or derived as the average run-of-the-mill RPG. If you don't really like RPGs, but don't hate them either, play Crisis Core for the story. It has the best story to ever appear on a PSP game, you just have to enjoy Japanese stories at least a little bit to enjoy this one. You either love it or hate it, depending on your view of RPGs.

How? Where did you find a copy and what system are you now playing it on? Don't tell us you had a PSOne and got a magic copy of a game that's been out of print and on "Rare Bird" lists for years?
I have friends who have been gamers for many years... What can I say?

That's not an answer. Therefore, I don't believe your claim in the least.

Why is it so hard to believe they got a copy of FFVII? There were only 10 million copies sold, so I'm sure there's some copies floating around here and there (ebay).

What's the drama?
I bought FFVII last year off ebay for like $30. I had no idea it was supposed to be "rare"
It's a good game, if a little overrated. I don't really think it's the best RPG on the PSP, I'd give that title to either Tales Of Eternia or Star Ocean: Second Evolution. My main gripes are that it's too linear and that the majority of the side missions sucked. Silent-HalStar Ocean: Second Evolution is one of my favorite games for PSP following Star Ocean: First Departure
It's a prequel to Final Fantasy 7 released on the PS1. It tells the story of Zack and his experiences as a SOLDIER and his meeting with Cloud, the reason how Cloud came to be in the original game. The game is real time mixed in with slots combat that allows for easy to grasp and fun battles. Overall the game is regarded as one of the PSP's best due to graphics, story and incredible gameplay. siLVURcross
LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But besides the awfully mindless gameplay this game is great. Easily one of the best games on the PSP but because of the story and graphics. Its great even if you haven't played FF7, and I thought the story was good even though I didn't like FF7 very much, even back in the PS1 days.
